The position at a glance

The HR Operational Permanent Control team works with all BNPP CIB US and Americas HR groups to ensure control standards are applied, map risks, and maintain business‑continuity and KPI/KRI reporting. They serve as the go‑to contact for HR policy guidance, audit coordination, incident handling, and personal data‑protection compliance, all while preserving strict confidentiality of employee and business data.


This position offers an opportunity for the candidate to grow a thorough knowledge of HR and its processes.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor HR procedures:  
    1. Act as Policy Manager for all local HR procedures/policies.

      Ensure timely renewal and central library access with HR leadership.

      Guarantee full compliance with all policy and procedural requirements.

  • Coordinate and perform Compliance and Regulatory requirements and checks related to: 
    1. Quarterly Finance Sub-certifications   
    2. Maintain Monthly OPC dashboard updates for HR metrics    
    3. OFAC/PEP (sanction lists) checks within SENTINEL. 
  • Maintain the permanent control framework up to date:     
    • Monitor the execution on an ongoing basis of all HR controls identified in the control plan 
    • Consolidate the Permanent Control Report for the US and report it to the Group      
  • Update the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) 
  • Be a key contact for Personal Data Protection (PDP) governance within HR
  • Support incident reporting and root cause analysis for operational issues impacting HR and input into applicable risk system. 
  • Conduct ABC Risk Control Self assessments of HR operations, policies, and practices to identify potential compliance and operational risks.       
  • Assist HR teams and serve as the HR liaison with internal and external auditors during operational risk and compliance reviews. (audit related queries, etc.)     


Required Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages*
  • Ability to operate autonomously
  • Ability to be well organized and to be multi-tasking
  • Ability to work as part of a multicultural team
  • Ability to collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and to be client-oriented
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (especially Word, Excel and Power Point)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience/training
  • Operational Risk experience 
  • Knowledge of HR processes
  • Knowledge of the banking industry
  • Analytical and project management skills a plus

 

*Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Professional working proficiency in French and English languages are required.
