Position Purpose

The business analyst is in charge of collecting, challenging and organizing the requirements for a specific scope. The requirements may come from different sources, either external (IT guidelines, partners requirements, local regulation …) as well as internal (sales, transformation, operations…)

Being owner of the requirements, the business analyst always thrives to find the best solution to match the maximum expectations in alignment with the company strategy and its needs. Obviously, the expected target solution needs to be compliant in terms of functional and technical architecture, including security.

Once defined, the requirements are implemented by IT development teams. Along the development, the business analyst will guide and clarify the developers.

After completion of the developments, the business analyst will ensure the testing of the components, either by self, or with the help of other testers and test automation tool.

The scope for this position is about digital portals opened to our clients and partners, within the biggest project of our company. The scope encompasses new features and needs, as well as reviewing some prior requirements to enhance them.

The main qualities expected for a business analyst, are :  the communication with various stakeholders , the ambition to make things done with a good level of quality, the increase of  value for all stakeholders, and a clear direction about what is `must have` from what is only `nice to have`

The position is within a team of 7 IT staff including one seasoned business analyst. The IT team is part of the project team which includes about 30 internal staff, but also stakeholders in Hong Kong, Singapore, France, India, etc…

After a proven and successful experience for this potion, the candidate may evolve as lead business analyst or project manager, for BNP Paribas Cardif Japan or other entities.


Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

l  Responsible for requirements

l  Accountable for the support during the developments

l  Responsible for the testing phase and quality of outputs

l  Contact person for the scope for various stakeholders


Contributing Responsibilities

l  Explore best practice constantly without being tied down to existing technology and process.

l  Contribute to the achievement of the IT department goals, such as :

Ø  Deployment of new IT governance

Ø  Strict respect of security rules and compliance

Ø  Contribute to other projects

Ø  Transversal topics , for example joint work with other business analysts of other departments

Ø  Ad hoc studies if any


IT/Business/background knowledge

l  5+ years of hands-on experience in similar positions including

Ø  Japanese financial industry knowledge, preferably insurance business, life insurance and Japanese regulation. accounting business, financial system operations, or business analysis and design.

Ø  Work experience in IT system requirement formalization/definition/testing, design, development, operation, etc. IT knowledge regarding web applications, authentication mechanisms, UI and UX and system development

l  Familiar with big projects, with frequent iterative deliveries or Agile methodology, and many stakeholders

l  Familiar with project management tools, requirements tools like Figma, ticketing tools like JIRA

l  Previous experience as leader or team member for test automation, performance tests, non regression test.

l  Proven track record for drafting documentation : requirements, use cases, diagrams, test scenarios, user manuals …


Other competencies

l  Capability to use business analyst tools, such as drafting business flows,

l  Deep knowledge and skill of Web application (Server, OS, MW, SW, DB, programming)

l  Qualifications and certifications are an asset (Technology, Project Management, Agile, life insurance etc)

l  Capability to report situations, issues, escalations with no delay and propose some alternatives and workaround to overcome the difficulties.

l  Some additional skills regarding architecture and data knowledge would be appreciated.

l  Native or Fluent in written/spoken Japanese and English. French is a plus.
