Description
What is this position about?
The person would be handling mainly Lombard and some Structured transactions.
• Cover mainly Lombard and some Structured transactions, new and existing, which originate from WM clients. For Structured deals, these include insider single stock lending, exotic structures, OneBank transactions and cross-border mortgage deals with collateral types comprising insider stocks, illiquid assets and properties.
• Assist in WM transactions and collaborate closely with CIB lending teams for OneBank transactions.
• Involve in UHNW client-onboarding pitching and attending client meetings with Relationship Managers where necessary, to identify and formulate lending solutions based on the clients’ requirements.
• Ensure all credit files are renewed in a timely manner in accordance with the credit policy.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies as well as manage communication with auditors and regulators’ for his/her transactions.
• Keep good records of all critical data relating to each transaction.
• If delegated as credit approver, to provide approval for Lombard files and exceptions to credit policies.
• Actively participate in team projects, management statistics and regulatory reporting.
• Provide training to new joiner RMs and MAs.
• Contribute to implementation of control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities, as and when required.
What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?
Primary Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Work closely with the Relationship Managers, Team Heads, Market Heads, Products and Business lines as well as Functions such as Legal and Compliance.
• Participate in client meetings, perform credit research and transaction due diligence to put up credit proposals for approval.
• Work closely with Front Office, Legal and Credit Administration in post-approval execution process.
• Provide advice on credit-related issues, be it internal policies or external regulatory guidelines.
• Daily oversight of transaction monitoring with assistance of Credit Monitoring.
• Contribute to accurate MIS reporting.
Other Contributions
• Contribute to BNPP policy revisions as well as governance and control frameworks.
• Contribute to implementation of control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities, as and when required.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines
• Contribute to the reporting of all incidents according to the Incident Management System
What is required for you to succeed?
Technical
• Good knowledge of financial analysis, market risk and legal documentation
• Good knowledge of regulatory environment and competitive landscape
• Good credit analysis and
• Good written and communication skills
• Programming skill with experience in VBA, MS-access would be considered a plus
Behavioural
• Capacity to deliver good-quality and accurate work with attention to details while under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good team player.
• Ability to manage stakeholders in Front Office and RISK.
• Ability to articulate arguments at credit committees to obtain approvals.
Required education/certification/licenses
• University graduate in Finance / Business Administration with 8-10 years of relevant experience with an MNC bank.
