About Business line/Function:

The Server Infrastructure team is responsible for supervising, monitoring, and developing the Server of the regional Hub of BNP Paribas, liaising with BNP Paribas Head Offices where all major banking applications are hosted. Server Team activities play a major role in the structure of processes that govern decision making around IT investment, client and supplier relationships, and project management.

 

Position Purpose

This position is focused on the automation management of Citrix infrastructure. The Citrix infrastructure offers services to thousands of users and hosts hundreds of servers. As part of this role, the candidate selected must contribute to preserving the required performance for a very demanding service with critical services offered from it. The role will contribute to maintaining a high-availability environment. Due to large number of assets to manage and the different vendor technologies, the role may require expert knowledge to adapt with the required skills on new technologies and scripting requirement to manage the infrastructure.


Responsibilities

High reactivity, proactive improvements and capacity to follow plan action linked to new projects and/or incident remediation are part of the day to day of this position. The team follows ITIL methodology and is part of the day-to-day operations.

The team is working in an FTS (Follow-the-sun) environment having members spread around the globe in Canada, USA, Brazil, France, Spain, India, Hong Kong and Singapore.


Direct Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7/365 support for Primary: AS400 Secondary: RedHat & Ubuntu
  • Proactively monitor all UNIX systems utilizing BNP Paribas standard tools.
  • Management of SAN and NAS at server side
  • Maintaining and adapting the configuration of server software and system components lifecycle Management.
  • Leverages Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform whenever and wherever possible (or other automation skills valuable like Puppet for developing and maintaining automation scripts)
  • Maintaining and monitoring the infrastructure using different tools
  • Tickets resolution through incidents, problems and different requests from the clients or other infrastructure teams
  • Troubleshooting, co-ordination with third party suppliers and vendors as well as with the central IT department of the customer.
  • Contingency planning, environment planning, configuration management and other relevant tasks related to the role.
  • Maintaining the relevant documents/manuals describing the system and its infrastructure.
  • Escalating incidents internally or to 3rd party partners when required.
  • Participating, on a punctual basis, on specific projects related to your specialty.
  • Liaise with application developers to gather requirements, design, and deploy standard systems, which clearly differentiate between Production, DR, Test and Development.
  • Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with the application development team and Equity business to make corrections and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure that all systems are backed up according to the business requirements and notify the data owners when there are failures.
  • Ensure optimal resilience of deployed systems; and meet all disaster recovery requirements specified by the business.
  • Maintain top-notch technical skills and business knowledge through proactive self-learning in addition to any formal instructor-led training provided by BNP Paribas.

 

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Administration of Unix core services and applications such as NIS, NFS, Automount, DNS, DHCP, CIFS, SendMail, Apache, NTP, PTP, Sudo, Jumpstart/Kickstart, LDAP, SSH.
  • Performing system upgrades, installing layered products, and analyzing and troubleshooting complex production systems.
  • Familiarize with system administration regarding relational databases (Sybase, Oracle), Middleware (WebSphere MQ), and market data distribution (Reuters RMDS) a plus.
  • Ability to interface with users at all levels of the organization and good end-user support skills.
  • Work as a member of a team, adhere to corporate standards and change management processes, and work to improve IT standards and policies.
  • Assess demand for their service or technology area and develop plans to meet future capacity needs and make recommendations to the manager.

 

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in Citrix CVAD administration, troubleshooting and knowledge of the product. A sound knowledge in Citrix NetScaler, StoreFront and DDC – administration and troubleshooting Windows Server administration
  • Must have background in developing and maintaining system documentation, including configuration guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Capability to assess demand for their service or technology area and develop plans to meet future capacity needs and make recommendations to the manager.
  • Active Directory GPO management and PowerShell, Ansible or other scripting languages/skills
  • Virtualization and HVD Administration. Linux Red hat/Ubuntu/Debian administration skills (Linux VDA)
  • Preferably ITIL 4 Foundation qualification.
