Job Title: IT Operations & Application Production Support Engineer

Department: IPS- CARDIF

The Infrastructure & Production function is responsible for ensuring stability, performance, security and availability of application services throughout their lifecycle. Operating in a continuously evolving technical environment, the team works closely with development and business stakeholders within an Agile and DevOps framework, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Position Purpose: 

 

The IT Operations & Application Production Support Engineer (Confirmed) operates with a high level of autonomy in a constantly changing technical environment. The role requires strong learning agility, adaptability and the ability to continuously evolve alongside new technologies, tools and organizational changes.

Primarily focused on IT Operations activities, the position also includes Application Production Support responsibilities within the RUN scope. As part of this role, the engineer coordinates and plans RUN activities and regularly participates in IT–Business meetings to ensure alignment between technical operations and business needs.

 

Context & Objective of this position: 

 

Within a critical and evolving production environment, we are looking for an IT Ops / DevOps Production Engineer responsible for:

 Delivering and evolving infrastructure and automation solutions (BUILD)

 Driving operational governance (planning, prioritization, reporting)

 The role operates in a transversal organization, with strong interaction across BP2I teams, Tribes, and ITG teams.

 Contribution over platform stability and security (RUN) by reviewing on the pre checks need on migration task and after migration – overview on the platform.

 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities:

 Contribute to continuous improvement (stability, automation, reliability)

 

 Deploy and configure infrastructure (on-prem, cloud, containers)

 

 Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code solutions

 

 Contribute to transformation initiatives (containerization, modernization)

 

 Manage application flows and inter-system exchanges

 

 Produce and maintain technical documentation

 

Contributing Responsibilities:

 Manage production incidents (diagnosis, resolution, escalation)

 

 

 Perform advanced root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues

 

 Monitor system and application performance

 

 Proactively manage vulnerabilities and obsolescence:

 

 identify outdated components (OS, middleware, platforms)

 

 plan and execute upgrades and patching

 

 ensure compliance with security standards

 

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

 Incident support: ITIL Concept, Service Now

 

  IT operations and application production

 

  Monitoring, supervision and alerting tools with Dynatrace tools appreciate

 Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift

 

  Incident, problem and change management

  SCM – Gitlab

 

 Network & Security - Firewall, Port opening etc..

 

 CI/CD and release management tools: Argo CD, Jenkins, XL Release

  Scheduling and workload automation: Control-M

 

  File transfer and data flows: CFT

 

  Databases: Oracle (Exadata & Exacc) / SQL 

 

  Application performance analysis: ELK logs, traces and events

  Release and deployment processes in Agile / DevOps environments—CI/CD

 

 Specific Qualifications:

            Good to have people with 

o Hashi Corp Certified Terraform Associate or any other DevOps platform tools  

o Certified Red hat Linux
