Position Purpose
The Regional Head of Lateral Recruitment APAC is a pivotal leadership role within BNP Paribas APAC Human Resources, responsible for steering the end-to-end talent acquisition function for all lateral hires across the region. This role integrates people leadership, recruitment risk management, and strategic talent acquisition. The successful candidate will ensure that the recruitment team delivers exceptional service and satisfaction to both hiring managers and candidates. As an experienced specialist resourcing expert, you will build strategic partnerships with business leaders and internal stakeholders across all levels and departments within a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Team & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of senior recruiters (HK & SG); define individual development plans, nurture a positive team culture, and provide soft-skill coaching.
- Regional Alignment
- Engage monthly with all Talent Acquisition (TA) Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) across APAC to ensure regional strategic alignment.
- Strategic Planning
- Own and execute the APAC lateral recruitment strategy, ensuring it aligns with business-line priorities.
- Workforce Partnership
- Partner with senior business leaders to forecast workforce needs, translate requirements into actionable hiring plans, and monitor execution.
- Vendor Management
- Oversee Managed Service Provider (MSP) contracts in Hong Kong and Singapore, including service level monitoring and contract renewals.
- Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all third-party engagements strictly comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Sourcing
- Drive direct sourcing via original initiatives, utilizing job boards, social media, and the BNP Paribas APAC Employer Brand.
- Pipeline Development
- Build diverse talent pools to meet future workforce planning, hiring demands, and diversity targets.
- Candidate Experience
- Manage and optimize the end-to-end candidate journey to ensure a premium experience.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with the Recruitment Administration Team (ISPL Mumbai), in-market HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and HR Services (HRS) teams.

- Meet and exceed team and individual SLAs, KPIs, and strategic objectives.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and proactively lead initiatives to enhance recruitment processes and implement best practices.
- Project Leadership
- Lead ad-hoc recruitment projects, such as employer-brand campaigns and talent-pipeline initiatives.
- Vendor Relations
- Manage operational relationships with recruitment agencies and other external vendors.

Internal
- Business Leaders, Hiring Managers, HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and functional teams (Legal, Compliance, Procurement, etc.).
External
- Vendors, suppliers, and candidates.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Proven Expertise
- A track record of delivering high-volume, specialist lateral hires with deep knowledge of sourcing tools and ATS governance.
- Supplier Optimization
- Ability to negotiate and optimize external supplier relationships, including rigorous validation of invoices and service-level compliance.
- Stakeholder Management
- Exceptional ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, both locally and with remote colleagues.
- Operational Excellence
- Commitment to data accuracy, policy compliance, and high-quality deliverables throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
- Innovation
- A proactive approach to modernizing sourcing methods, streamlining processes, and enhancing the candidate experience.
- Inclusive Hiring
- Ability to embed diversity objectives into sourcing strategies and ensure equitable candidate assessment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-site recruitment teams and managing MSP/vendor ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of APAC labor markets, employer branding, and diversity hiring practices.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 5 years in a managerial role covering the APAC region.
