About The Team
- BNP Paribas Global Markets' Prime Services business unit is one of three main sub-business units within the Global Equities division. Our team combines the strengths of traditional Prime Brokerage services with the innovative spirit of the Equity Derivative franchise. This unique combination enables us to anticipate client needs and develop effective solutions to the challenges they face
- Within Prime Services, our Risk Management team plays a critical role in managing portfolio risk and determining the amount of leverage we can offer clients. We work closely with other areas within the business, including sales, securities lending, and client management, as well as with transversal teams such as Credit Risk Management and Exposure Management Group. Our team in Lisbon provides critical support to the desk in managing client financing risk for the business.
Your Main Activities Are
- Assess and review portfolio risk, identifying changes in client strategies and asset mixes to determine if margining methodologies need updates
- Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of changes in client portfolios, cost of funding, business mix, interest rates, and currency mix on risk and pricing
- Analyze and report on major swings in client portfolios, escalating concerns to management
- Assist in developing margin and pricing proposals for new and existing clients
- Develop automation tools to monitor and analyze client performance metrics across various dimensions, including internal and external metrics
- Generate accurate risk summaries at the position, client account, regional and global levels
- Manage and execute ad hoc projects for the desks.
Profile and Skills to Success
- Graduate degree in mathematics or engineering with analytical skills
- Interest in finance
- Fluency in English is mandatory (only applications in English will be considered)
- Excellent communication skills and initiative to engage with teams spread across regions
- Excellent Excel skills (experience in VBA, SWL), python
- Confident and able to deal with senior managers & cross cultural teams
- Willingness to work flexible/ late hours, i.e., New York based schedule
- Ability and agility to work under pressure
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Consider risk in daily activities and abide by the Key Front Officer Responsibilities and GM Principles and Guidelines.
