Business area
Global Markets is BNP Paribas’ capital markets business within the Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB), delivering solutions across asset classes, and industry-leading services for clients including institutional, corporates, private banks and retail distribution networks.
Global Markets encompasses five global business lines:
- G10 Rates
- Equity Derivatives (“EQD”)
- FXLM & Commodity Derivatives
- Prime Solutions & Financing, and
- Primary & Credit Markets
Helping their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk.
Global Markets is made up of over 3,700 staff globally based in EMEA, the Americas and Asia Pacific, with the main trading floors located in London, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Singapore and Tokyo.
As part of the Equity Derivatives (“EQD”) unit, the Convertible Bond team works on both primary issuance of convertible bonds to the market and providing liquidity to more than 150 clients in secondary market. We also provide and market dedicated convertible bond research.
Job purpose
As part of Convertible Bond Trading team the successful applicant will be involved assisting the Sales team in their daily tasks:
- Interaction with trading,
- Interaction with research,
- Interaction with MO/BO,
- Production of analysis of the market,
- Production of analysis of the business.
Key responsibilities
- Ensuring smooth post trade.
- Producing reports on business and markets.
- Automation of process. Providing data to both sales and trading.
- Working with IT on development of new features in desk tools.
- Coordinate client events.
Requirements
- Interest in financial markets with knowledge of option theory, fixed income and rates markets.
- Strong autonomy and ability to learn.
- Good communication skills and team-work spirit.
- Previous experience in market finance is a plus.
- Strong academic track record.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; other European languages an advantage.
- Strong IT Skills – mainly Excel, VBA and SQL
- Prior experience of the finance sector is an advantage.
- Ability to think analytically and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
