The Securities Services business of BNP Paribas is one of Europe's leading providers of custody services for securities.
 The Luxembourg branch plays a major part in its operations, offering clients high value-added services extending from custody to securities lending, fund administration, performance measurement and ratings, and bond issuance services.

We are currently looking for a:


Fund Accountant Officer (M/F)

10 months contract

 

 

CONTEXT AND CHALLENGES

 

As a part of the Fund Accounting team within the Fund Administration Department, you will handle all accounting operations within the fund accounting department, verify transactions, reconciliation for cash balance and process and review net asset value of the funds administered by BNP Paribas.  In addition to technical responsibilities, you play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and improving accounting processes, while also supporting and mentoring junior team members.

 

WHAT’S YOUR DAY-TO-DAY MISSION?

 

Your day-to-day mission will include:

 

Net Asset Value Calculation in respect of our procedures and the ISAE3402 standard :

o    Ensure the Zero Default Quality.

o    Ensure reconciliations are performed (cash, securities, shares in issue) and any difference is explained.

o    Ensure the follow-up of the pending items, and escalate to the management in case of long and/or impacting pending. 

o    Calculate and control the Net Asset Values.

o    Check that the Pricing of the underlying out of tolerance is correct with the usual Pricing Sources.

o    Provide answers when required to any person in charge an action in the NAV Cycle.

o    Respect our clients Net Asset Value publication cut offs.

o    Contribute to all tasks relating to the lifecycle of funds (launch of share class, deactivation of share class, liquidation.)

 

Understand the operational and financial risks related the fund accountant mission :

o  By using the “Self Risk Assessment” documents. Inform immediately your manager when an error has been discovered or in case of a problem affecting our client duties.

 

Respect our client publication cut offs :

o  By adapting your work in relation with your daily planning.

 

Year End closing and Audit :

o  Ensure all the documents are available in due time for the auditors. o  Provide answers to the auditors within two business days.

 

Participate in maintaining high standards in terms of quality of our internal and external relationship :

o  Provide professional answers within the agreed standards defined

 

Participate in projects :

o  Provide support during project such as funds migration, funds merger, launch of new funds or liquidations, …

 

Assist the good operation of the team:

o    Improvement of the procedures,

o    Training of the juniors and the new coming staff,

o    Ensure a second level check and the archiving of the NAV pack

You will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a team of professionals in the Fund Administration Department.

 

  • Job location: Luxembourg
  • Description of the team the employee will be joining: The Fund Accounting team is a key component of the Fund Administration Department, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness for NAV calculation process. The team is composed of experienced professionals with a strong background in fund administration.
  • Interactions outside the team: You will interact with other Business/Functions, including COE teams, BI Lux, and management in Fund Administration Luxembourg and in COE.

  • Training plan: A comprehensive training plan will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

ARE YOU OUR FUTURE Fund Accountant ?

 

Professional experience and/or degree

 

  • Finance and Accounting or similar fields of study
  • Over 3 to 5 years of experience in Fund Accounting or Asset Management
  • Proficient knowledge of Operations and Processes in Fund Accounting and Asset Services

Technical skills

 

You should have strong knowledge of funds industry and knowledge of stock, bond, FX, futures, options instruments and markets, as well as funds (equity, bonds, money market, ETF).

Fund of Hedge Fund And Private Equity knowledge is a plus.

You should be fluent in English (both oral and written) and have a good knowledge of French.
