Job Title: <Assistant Vice President>

About Business line/Function: Finance & Strategy/CIB Finance/Global Banking

Position Purpose: The jobholder will be a part of the Global Banking Regional Fronting EMEA team with global mission to monitor & foster performance for Global Banking within CIB. The role will require the candidate to act as business partner for business divisions & business lines & support the business strategic steering. The candidate will produce performance management reports with various indicators to support analysis & steering business performance. The candidate will also work on the closing process supporting business finance teams in respect of group instructions/processes

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Monitoring & Fostering Performance by

·      Continuous monitoring of GB financial results-NBI, costs, headcount, CoR, capital, balance sheet & ensuring timely & accurate reporting & submission of various standard & adhoc reporting need for Flash/Actuals (monthly), Forecasting (quarterly) & Budgeting (annual) by operating within tight deadlines from CIB Synthesis & Group

·      Extensive analysis of Net Banking Income, Costs, Cost of Risk, Liquidity, RWA by business line, cluster, nature, & country for understanding the key drivers by closely coordinating with the management accounting, business & other performance steering teams

·      Contributing to timely & accurate financial communications which will require preparation of standard & ad hoc Mgt reports for Revenues, Costs, HC, CoR, Volumes & Other KPIs for Global Banking EMEA/WW consolidated view

·      Contributing to timely & accurate territory reports for M&A business line

·      Contributing to annual SREP reporting for ECB

·      Intercompany - Cost & Revenue Accruals & Reinvoicing review/support

·      Contributing to Metropole Flash & Actuals submission for client reporting

·      Contributing to Client Reporting with data collection, performing central adjustments, reconciliation, variance analysis (by liaising with local/regional teams) & submission of data to the Group Client Profitability Team & additionally, response to questions raised coverage teams within agreed timelines

·      Business partnering with key stakeholders on a regular basis & monthly review with senior management to discuss business performance

·      Implement measures to standardize & strengthen interaction between Regional/Head office & Infinity Hub stakeholders

·      Alerting the CFOs in case of any issues/challenges

·      Setting financial goals which will involve participation in defining the divisions’ strategic goals & priorities

·      Performing & reviewing the Budget & Planning exercises with business/CFOs

·      Promoting & implementation of Finance projects (new systems, procedures, standards/regulations)

·      Coordination with Risk, Regional Finance, ALMT, Performance Managers (regions, central) & project team based in Paris

·      Contribute to Ad hoc analysis, new requests improving processes & providing value added commentary

·      Contribution to the monitoring & implementation of any regulatory requesting affecting the processes

 

Contributing Responsibilities

·      Performing & ensuring robust operational controls are applied in line with the Group requirement

·      Continuously striving to identify improvement opportunities to improve efficiency & effectiveness

·      Drive to value-add with enhanced analysis & commentaries for steering performance

·      Participating & leading projects, initiatives, projects, system changes/upgrades

·      Assisting the managers in four eye & review responsibilities of the team & team deliverables

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·      CA with strong Financial Analysis and Stakeholder Management skills 

·      9 - 14 Years of post-qualification experience in Financial Analysis / Performance Management, other Finance functions preferably in a Banking environment

 

Specific Qualifications:

CA, CMA, MBA Finance
