About the Job

  • The team member will assist with, and complete, a range of trading and transaction activities across electronic platforms and solutions into global exchanges, applying their skills and experience to make decisions on matters with respect to BNPP and DEC client objectives

Your Main Activities Are

  • Take accountability for decisions while completing the following with increasing autonomy: 
    • Be a primary client contact to deliver on content distribution, reporting, and provide market colour to support activity. 
    • Be accountable for dealing with client enquiries in a timely manner
    • Evaluate the risk and opportunities in the market that align with client and desk objectives; 
    • Take enquiries / instructions from the clients 
    • Book and monitor transactions, conducting follow-ups with other internal BNPP teams
    • Proactively monitor electronic execution process through clearing; report any execution errors 
    • Coordinate with other teams to support clients’ needs and to ensure their accessibility to BNPP’s products 
  • Recommend changes or developments to products or services offered by the team; 
  • Build client relationships; develop a strong understanding of their requirements and market activities; 
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with all relevant stakeholders and collaborate with internal teams markets and develop strategies to achieve revenue targets; 
  • Work independently on most activities, with closely defined and limited responsibilities;
  • Deliver personal targets and objectives to support the performance of the team; 
  • Keep up to date with rules (existing and new) and regulatory changes by Exchanges, Regulators and Compliance.

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Degree in Engineering, Financial Engineering, Finance, Maths, Economics or Econometrics, or:
  • Equivalent qualification / business experience, along with any experience with sales trading activity 
  • Sound knowledge related to a range of multi-asset products, systems and services; 
  • Experience working with clients; ability to understand requirements and help define solutions;
  • Experience with managing transaction related risks 
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to work with increasing autonomy in a fast paced environment 
  • Strong personal organisation skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good at building relationships and communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Experience in various specialist systems. (e.g. Reuters, Bloomberg, exchange GUI’s, e-platforms and in-house tools)

About the Team 

  • Derivatives Execution & Clearing (DEC) is an execution and clearing business within Global Markets, giving access to 70+ world’s largest Exchanges to Corporate and Institutional clients. DEC combines the strengths of Global Markets across Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) Execution, OTC Clearing and ETD Clearing for Corporates, and of Securities Services on ETD Clearing for Institutions 
  • The DEA monitoring team sits within the DEC business line and supports the Low Touch listed derivatives electronic execution activity for both BNP Paribas (BNPP) customers and external customers globally.  The primary objectives are to proactively, and safely, manage the daily electronic execution of DEC clients through various stages: pre, post, and real-time trade monitoring
