Job Title: Senior ETL / Power BI developer
Department: ISPL ITG Fortis ADM
About Business line/Function: BNP Paribas Fortis is a key player on the Belgian market and a driver of economic growth. Within the entity Payments (=beating heart of the bank), you will be part of the squad ‘IPCCIB’, team responsible for the development & maintenance of the International Payments. We deliver new functionalities and enhancements on a frequent basis.
Position Purpose:
We are seeking a qualified and motivated candidate to be responsible for proper ETL development, standards and best practices, collaborating with existing ETL/Analytics resources to set cutting edge industry standards.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Does development and testing tasks, ensures adherence to agreed timelines, and communicates status of tasks to team lead.
- Evaluates the integration of various data sources like SQL server, SSIS, Power BI and sequential files into staging area and recommends and/or implements efficiencies.
- Performs technical walk-through as needed to communicate design/coded solution and to seek input from team members.
- Develops ETL processes using SSIS, ETL control tables, error logging, auditing, data quality, etc.
- Implements data cleanup procedures, transformations, scripts, stored procedures, and execution of test plans for loading the data successfully into the targets
Contributing Responsibilities
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- 3-5 years of experience at Enterprise-level ETL development and ETL architecture using SSIS.
- Strong Database knowledge in the areas of general SQL and usage of Microsoft SQL Server (with SQL Server Management Studio)
- Strong ETL technical knowledge in the areas of diverse data integration and workflow automation with SSIS.
- Strong Reporting skills to deploy, publish, schedule and manage reports with SSRS
Specific Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required
- Good knowledge of analytical and logical conceptual level programming skills
- Data analysis, data mapping, data loading, and data validation.
- Understand reusability, parameterization, workflow design, etc.
- Support other ETL developers; technical assistance, troubleshooting and alternative development solutions
- Should have thorough understanding of Entire life cycle of Software and various Software Engineering Methodologies.
- Performance tuning and end-to-end lifecycle experience with Enterprise wide data warehouse
