Position Purpose | |||||
The IOPS Monitoring & Observabilité engineer purpose is to ensure optimal performance and visibility of IT platforms through advanced monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk. Be the first point of contact for incidents and requests related to observability. Maintain close collaboration with application and infrastructure teams. Be able to propose resilient and scalable monitoring architectures to support ARVAL’s business growth. Deploy monitoring solutions and integrate target applications into the observability framework. Automating recurring monitoring tasks to reduce human error and prevent incidents is a key activity. We also ensure proactive platform supervision and implement alerting mechanisms to detect and resolve issues as soon as they arise. Technical expertise, teamwork, knowledge sharing, adaptability to multiple technologies, proactivity, and automation skills are essential qualities to fulfill our mission.

Responsibilities | |||||
Direct Responsibilities
Monitoring Operations – Ensure the update of monitoring configurations and the application of patches on Dynatrace and Splunk platforms, following recommendations from vendors and the central group team. Incident Resolution – Act as the primary point of contact for critical incidents across monitored environments. Leverage Dynatrace, Splunk, and available technical expertise to resolve incidents quickly and prevent recurrence. ServiceNow Backlog Management – Handle requests from end users and ARVAL IT teams within expected timelines. Identify automation opportunities and escalate them to the team to accelerate incident and request resolution while minimizing human error. Application Integration – Participate in the integration of applications into Dynatrace and/or Splunk according to team and group standards. Security and Processes – Follow security guidelines during interventions and adhere to internal processes (change, incident, and problem management) to ensure the expected level of quality. DevOps – Work closely with development teams and APS to understand applications and their integration into the technical landscape. Be able to analyze end-to-end application failures. Proactive Monitoring – For each Tribe, perform daily application reviews and proactively propose improvement actions.

Operate autonomously at a senior to expert level on observability tools, particularly Dynatrace and Splunk. Demonstrate motivation and accountability in daily monitoring, incident resolution, and performance optimization tasks. Actively contribute within a multi-technology squad, collaborating across disciplines and sharing expertise to support team goals. Show proactivity and autonomy in managing your workload within an Agile framework, taking ownership of deliverables and continuously seeking improvement opportunities. Maintain clear and professional communication with business stakeholders, with fluency in English required. Provide high-level technical expertise to optimize monitoring configurations, alerting strategies, and performance dashboards. Propose enhancements that improve system reliability, reduce alert noise, and accelerate incident resolution. Understand the global business interactions across the ARVAL application landscape and how observability contributes to service continuity and performance. Act as the first point of contact for development teams and APS, understanding their needs and translating them into effective monitoring and alerting strategies. Support application onboarding into Dynatrace and Splunk, ensuring alignment with group standards and observability best practices. Ensure incidents and request tickets are well-documented with actionable technical insights. Escalate appropriately and ensure smooth handover to the next support level. As an SRE, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the resilience and performance of IT systems in alignment with our SLOs and SLAs, by implementing advanced observability practices (by having and end to end view of all impacting operations, increasing controls, reacting quickly in case of incident...) using tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk. The goal is to enable proactive monitoring and continuous improvement of the user experience, in close collaboration with our APS and Application Owners.
Specific Technical Skills Required for This Role Confirmed expertise in Dynatrace: application and infrastructure monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and API integration. Knowledge of Splunk (SPL, dashboards, log parsing) or strong ability to ramp up quickly. Proficiency in Python scripting: automation, data processing, and API calls. Experience with REST APIs (Dynatrace, Splunk, ServiceNow, etc.). Strong knowledge of Linux (expert level) and Windows (intermediate level). Understanding of Java/WebLogic architectures, Docker, Tanzu, and Cloud platforms (AWS, IBM Cloud). Familiarity with DevOps tools | |||||
