About Business line/Function: ARVAL Service Lease

Arval is a car renting company with Services, for professional entities and more recently, opened to retail market. Serving 30 countries worldwide with the goal of being the best in class both for customer satisfaction and innovation (Partnership, new technologies, etc.)

Arval IT is the IT department of the company.  The IT Production Tribe is a key component of the Arval IT department, focusing on several critical areas to support the company's operations. This tribe is structured into 5 domains :

 

  • Production security domain: Manage the security on Production : Security Monitoring, Advanced Malware Protection, Secure network, Secure Hosting, Security Data Warehouse / Dashboards, DLP Technical, Service Design Validation, Privileged Access Control, Vulnerability Management, Production Security project management, Production Resilience
  • Application Production domain: This domain operates daily over 200 business applications that make up Arval's information system. The main goal is to ensure the smooth functioning and support of these applications, addressing any issues that arise and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Infrastructure Domain: Manage, Deploy and support Arval infrastructure hosted in BNPP Datacenter. Define and Enrich Infrastructure service catalog, anticipate infrastructure capacity planning and integrate security and compliance requirements. The infrastructure domain consists of 4 teams: Network, Digital Working, Windows, Linux & Storage & Virtualisation
  • Technical Office Domain: Contributes to the preparation and validation of Project Architecture Overview (PAO), drives obsolescence, manage Production Cloud competency center and provide technology expertise (ExaCC, Secure Transport…).

Position Purpose

The HAM Manager gathers detailed hardware and software inventory information to facilitate decisions regarding purchasing, allocation, replenishment and retirement of IT assets. The role ensures effective utilization of all allocated hardware, software and related infrastructure. This position enforces compliance with corporate security policies, licensing requirements and technology deployment standards. The HAM Manager works closely with system support, networking, procurement, finance and other operational teams to ensure efficient and compliant management of all IT assets throughout their lifecycle.

 

Responsibilities

 

Direct Responsibilities

 

1. IT Asset Lifecycle Management

·       Supports and manages the full lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to retirement, ensuring assets are effectively deployed, tracked, updated and disposed.

·       Ensures detailed and accurate hardware and software inventory is always maintained.

·       Conduct annual asset reconciliation against the record in finance book.

 

2. Compliance, Audits & Licensing

·       Participates in regular internal/external audits to ensure asset data accuracy, proper documentation and compliance with licensing, security and policy requirements.

·       Manage software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and legal standards.

 

3. Software Usage & Cost Optimization

·       Tracks software usage to identify unused or underused applications and eliminate over-licensing.

·       Helps optimize procurement and maintenance expenses by recommending cost-saving initiatives.

 

4. Vendor & Contract Management

·       Works with vendors to manage contracts, warranty claims, AMC renewals and maintenance schedules.

·       Ensures asset purchases and renewals align with budget and governance guidelines.

 

5. Asset Incident Management

·       Help manage incidents related to IT hardware and software assets such as failures, warranty claims or licensing issues.

·       Ensures timely resolution to minimize operational disruptions.

 

6. Preventive Asset Monitoring

·       Proactively monitors asset health, lifecycle milestones and policy deviations to prevent potential issues affecting operations.

 

Contributing Responsibilities

 

1.       Budget and Financial Collaboration

·       Contributes to IT asset budget planning, including procurement, maintenance and depreciation.

·       Coordinates with Fulfillment, Finance & Accounting teams to ensure asset-related expenses meet budgetary and compliance criteria.

 

2.       Cost Tracking & Optimization

·       Tracks total cost of ownership (TCO) across purchase, maintenance, storage and disposal.

·       Recommend actions to reduce asset costs while improving operational efficiency.

 

3.       Cross-functional Coordination

·       Collaborates with system support, networking, information security, logistics and service delivery teams to ensure smooth asset operations.

·       Supports standardized deployment and configuration practices across the organization.

 

4.       Process Improvement & Automation

·       Contributes to enhancing asset management processes, SOPs, dashboards and automation opportunities.

·       Supports improvements to CMDB accuracy, discovery tools and reconciliation processes.
