Business Overview:
Fully integrated into the IT and Operations (ITO) department, CIB Operations covers a large panel of operational activities supporting CIB business lines in the region.
This role is for the Head of AMER Securities & Prime Transaction Processing. This role reports locally to the Head of AMER Market Operations – Transactions Processing and functionally to the Global Head of Securities & Prime Transaction Processing.
The Securities & Prime Transaction Processing function includes the middle and back offices dedicated to the support of each product within the Securities & Prime processing chains (Prime Brokerage, Equity Execution, Fixed Income Securities including bonds, ABS, CLO and MBS, and Syndicated Loans).
The Head of AMER Securities & Prime Transaction Processing is responsible for the functional regional management of Securities & Prime Transaction Processing Staff based out of the Americas, local management of Securities & Prime Transaction Processing staff based in the US, and oversight of Securities & Prime Transaction Processing production activities traded out of the Americas that have been nearshored & offshored or centrally managed.

Responsibilities:
The Head of AMER Securities & Prime Transaction Processing is responsible for driving the strategy & operational excellence of the platform for each of the Securities & Prime processing chains. This role is crucial for ensuring best-in-class service delivery to clients, enhancing overall operational performance, and aligning with business and regulatory requirements. The key responsibilities in this position are as follows
Design the Target Operating Model (TOM) of the department:
- Organization local & regional i.e. inclusive of US and LATAM teams in partnership with global Head
- Location strategy plan (resilience) & oversight
- Assess the level of competence (vs required – skills matrix) of the Operational teams in charge of the production and highlight the gaps in terms of expertise/capacity
Strategic Leadership:
- Drive the platform's strategic development to provide best-in-class experiences to clients, business units, and regulatory supervisors
- Articulate with the Head of AMER Market Operations – Transactions Processing and Global Head of Securities & Prime Transaction Processing as well as with business to ensure full strategic alignment in terms of industrialization and transformation
Governance:
- Together with its counterparts within IT, steer the interactions all along the E2E value chains including relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective service delivery
- Participate to the Head of AMER Market Operations – Transactions Processing and Global Head of Securities & Prime Transactions Processing exco governances
- Supervise & animate operations teams contributing to the platform services delivery
- Define & monitor department budget across the different locations & Centers of Expertise
Operational Risk Management:
- Manage the operational risks, working closely with Metiers as the first line of defence
- Oversee the management of all artefacts of permanent control including: RCSA, Control framework, Procedures, Audit recommendations, Operational resilience and business continuity
Regulatory Excellence:
- Continue to reinforce the operations platform’s resilience capabilities:
- Ensure Extreme Risk Scenarios set up for relevant activities.
- Ensure Operations readiness for any new industry standards.
- Ensure full alignment of processes & controls with Broker Dealer regulatory obligations
Operational Excellence:
- Implement and monitor Operations standards, norms, and best practices.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to continuously improve the clients’ satisfaction.
Modern & Reliable Technology:
- Sponsor/Drive transformation initiatives allowing simplification & standardization of process within the department in tight collaboration with Metiers & IT, including the integration of AI and other advanced technologies
- Continue the industrialization & efficiency effort across locations
People Care and team Management:
- Lead the department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Identify and propagate best practices within the platform on conduct, talent attraction, development and retention including effective training path & career path for staff
- Act as an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion of talents
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of BA/BS or equivalent degree in Business, Economics, Financial Engineering or Finance
- 15+ years of experience within a US Broker Dealer Operations setup
- 7+ years managing Broker Dealer Operations (Equity and/or Fixed Income)
- Strong team management and development skills, with the ability to coach and mentor a diverse, large and geographically dispersed team with varying levels of experience
- Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute initiatives
- Strong influencing skills to get things done; she/he must have a collaborative approach with the ability to partner with cross-functional business leaders across the global enterprise
- Strong business acumen with a good understanding of business drivers and the ability to provide support to the executive team
- Business-focused executive, with financial acumen; ability to articulate cost-benefit analyses, manage budget
- Solid experience in cost management and driving efficiencies in a complex environment
- Proven ability on process efficiency and quality controls
- Proponent of continuous improvement processes with the ability to challenge the status quo; a change agent
- Ability to:
- Drive impact and change in a complex global environment, working successfully through a matrix structure; ability to navigate dual-reporting lines and collaborate with IT, Operations and business leaders in various geographies and entities throughout BNP Paribas organization; flexible and comfortable with change
- Drive effective succession planning in terms of preparation, planning and grooming
- Take initiative and make decisions under pressure while inspiring team members to challenge the status quo to improve processes
- Relationship builder who can partner with key business stakeholders, to maintain alignment on requirements from business priorities and focus

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $180,000 to $225,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
