Motor Operations Manager

Location: Solihull; a flexible hybrid working model which supports you as well as enabling you to work collaboratively with your colleagues

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

As Motor Operations Manager, you will lead our Customer Service, Collections & Recoveries and End of Contract teams within Motor Finance Operations. Reporting to the Head of Motor Operations, you will contribute to operational strategy, lead department performance, manage third-party relationships, drive continuous improvement, and ensure excellent customer outcomes across the end-to-end journey, all while maintaining strong regulatory compliance and cost efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop motor Customer Service & Collections teams to deliver commercial objectives, SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Drive continuous improvement across business processes, policy and technology to enhance efficiency, customer experience and collections performance
  • Ensure full compliance with FCA requirements, including Consumer Duty, vulnerability identification, financial difficulties and conduct risk frameworks
  • Own departmental controls across resource, cost management, call quality, credit control and customer conduct risk
  • Manage recruitment, resource planning and departmental budget to maintain a cost-effective operating model
  • Build strong relationships with third-party suppliers, dealers and internal stakeholders, managing performance and mitigating operational risks

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Proven experience leading an operational department within a Motor Finance or Collections environment
  • Strong leadership and coaching capability, with a track record of building high-performing, engaged teams
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements including FCA standards and Consumer Duty
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data, identify gaps and implement effective solutions
  • Confident decision-maker with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
