Corporate Coverage - Vice President - Pilot
This position is based in Zurich.
YOUR WORKDAY
The Coverage VP plays a fundamental role within the Corporate Coverage business model by assuming a key role on 3 dimensions: a strong commercial focus, credit expertise and KYC/Compliance & ESG strong knowledge.
- He/She applies existing policies and procedures , and operations within relevant area within Corporate Coverage to all tasks of these 3 dimensions and is accountable for assisting to ensure that all marketing and execution materials and processes meet high standards of quality and reliability.
On commercial side, the Coverage VP supports the Bankers in the development of the client relationship and profitability.
- He/She is notably in charge of the preparation and follow up of the Client Action Plan
- He/She has full autonomy for proactively and reactively processing routine tasks (deal execution, portfolio management, client management, risk analysis, marketing) and participates in internal communications with relevant internal stakeholders to facilitate work within Corporate Coverage, driving effective delivery of all tasks.
- He/She may manages own client relationships under supervision of a Managing Director on complex or strategic dialogue.
On the credit aspect, the Coverage VP is responsible for monitoring the overall risks and credit process of a portfolio of Pilot Groups and MNC (when applicable).
- He/She is responsible for undertaking a risk analysis on a portfolio of clients, which includes forming an opinion on the credit worthiness of each request and client.
- He/She will present this opinion to risk management colleagues, under the supervision of senior colleagues and manage the relevant processes, policies and systems related to Risk.
- He/She will support the presentation by more junior colleagues of this opinion to risk management colleagues, supervise the management of the relevant processes, policies and systems related to Risk.
The Coverage VP is also responsible for the KYC and ESG process of its portfolio of clients, interacting with dedicated teams (DDT, CSR,…) so as to make sure that any identified Compliance or ESG risk is adequately treated and reported in the appropriate systems while keeping appropriate stakeholders informed.
- He/She demonstrates strong autonomy in completing necessary Onboarding and Recertification tasks, avoiding delays and overdue.
On these three dimensions, the Coverage VP must demonstrate capacities to collaborates with team members and offers creative solutions to problems, developing skills in communicating concepts and interacting with others :
- He/She works under own initiative but refers more complex and technical issues to more senior colleagues in a timely manner for resolution and advice.
- He/She prioritises his/her workload as required to support the team and achieve his/her personal development and growth objectives within agreed timescales.
- He/She collaborates with team members and other teams and begins to offer solutions to problems.
- He/She applies knowledge to perform complex task and solves complex issues in creative and effective ways, as well as to assist with the management of workstreams where required.
- He/She utilises expertise to make independent judgments to deal with a variety of situations, but refers atypical and particularly complex matters to more senior colleagues for input where appropriate.
- He/She builds strong relationships with other relevant internal teams and liaises effectively with them to ensure quality of deliverables, operating with an increasing degree of autonomy / self-sufficiency.
- He/She influences and supports members of Corporate Coverage by leading in decision making and approach where problems are more complex and require sophisticated analysis or experience.
- He/She acts as a point of escalation for more junior staff.
- He/she maintains and updates internal systems related to risk, marketing and general management.
By covering a large range of topics, but also building internal working relationships with BNPP colleagues and more senior team members to increase knowledge of the Corporate Coverage function and its role in supporting and delivering to clients, the Coverage VP will develop high valued skills on these three dimensions acting, as such, as a true partner of the MDs and Ds.
YOUR SKILLS & PROFILE
Education / Experience:
- Degree in Finance and/or Economics and/or Accounting with a strong knowledge of financial analysis under several standards (IFRS, local)
- At least, 6 years’ experience in Banking for VP
Skills and Competencies:
- Good knowledge of the Corporate banking environment and a solid understanding of the transaction process from end-to-end
- Have a good understanding of the internal mechanisms of BNPP (or to be able to quickly master it) to deliver the bank to the client
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented with a solid knowledge of financial analysis
- Team player
- Business minded with an acute sense of risk
- Ability to build his/her own opinion on a file and to convince
- Self-starter with good initiative
- Flexible and eager to improve his/her own performance
- Fluency in German and English. French is a plus
- Experience in Lifesciences and Tech sector is a plus
- Pack MS Office
