Position: Collection Officer

Type of contract: Permanent

Type of working: Hybrid (3 days in the office/2 days from home)

Based in: Bucharest, Romania – Oregon Park

Role Purpose

Ensuring the recovery of outstanding receivables by contacting debtors, negotiating payment solutions, and monitoring compliance with agreed payment commitments.

Responsibilities

• Contacting customers with outstanding debts by phone and/or in writing.
• Handling inbound and outbound calls related to the debt recovery department through the call center system.
• Negotiating payment deadlines and repayment methods.
• Monitoring the fulfillment of payment commitments.
• Tracking payments made by customers or third parties and documenting them, where applicable.
• Preparing rescheduling files, including drafting rescheduling requests.
• Completing and processing payment instruments (promissory notes/cheques).
• Continuously updating the database with newly obtained information.
• Archiving all documents and correspondence received or issued.
• Collaborating with other departments and responding to their requests in a timely manner.
• Complying with internal procedures and applicable legislation.

Requirements

• Education: University degree in Economics or Law.
• Previous experience in debt collection/call center: minimum 3 years.
• English language: written, spoken and comprehension.
• Software knowledge: MS Office.
• Driving license – category B.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle difficult situations and strong results orientation.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
