Job Title: AIEnabled Production Engineer – IT Operations

Department: IPS- CARDIF

The Infrastructure & Production function is responsible for ensuring stability, performance, security and availability of application services throughout their lifecycle. Operating in a continuously evolving technical environment, the team works closely with development and business stakeholders within an Agile and DevOps framework, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

ISPL teams contribute to IT Operations, automation and production transformation, leveraging emerging technologies such as AIaugmented OPS (AIOps) to improve reliability and efficiency

Position Purpose: 

 

The AIEnabled Production Engineer contributes to the implementation and integration of intelligent automation within IT Production environments.

 

The role combines traditional OPS / Production engineering skills with emerging AIdriven automation, supporting the progressive adoption of agentic AI in RUN activities.

 

Context & Objective of this position: 

 

The position aims to:

 

·        Support AIdriven automation use cases in IT Production

·        Contribute to sanity checks, monitoring and remediation workflows

·        Integrate AI agents with production tools (scripts, APIs, schedulers)

·        Develop a strong production and reliability mindset, while upskilling on AI technologies

 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities:

·        Implement and maintain automated sanity checks (health, availability, consistency)

·        Contribute to automation scripts and workflows triggered by AI agents

·        Integrate AIbased actions with production platforms and tools

·        Participate in incident analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

·        Ensure operational consistency with runbooks and procedures

Contributing Responsibilities:

·        Support production incident management (diagnosis, resolution, escalation)

·        Assist in testing and validation of AIdriven automation

·        Produce clear documentation for automation and operational processes

·        Collaborate closely with senior engineers and AI experts

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Technical Skills

 

·        Scripting and automation: Python, Shell, APIs

·        Basic understanding of AI / agentic concepts

·        Familiarity with IT Production, DevOps and cloud environments

·        Monitoring and basic observability tools (logs, alerts, metrics)

 

Production & OPS Skills

 

·        IT Operations & Application Production Support

·        Incident and problem management fundamentals

·        Understanding of RUN activities and production constraints

 

 Specific Qualifications:

 

·        First professional experience (or strong academic exposure) in IT Operations, Production Support, DevOps or Automation

·        Initial exposure to scripting or programming (Python, Shell, or equivalent)

·        Interest in automation, AI augmented operations (AIOps) and modern IT Production practices

·        Any certification or training related to DevOps, Cloud, Linux or Automation is a plus (optional, not mandatory)

·        Willingness to progressively upskill on AI / agentic systems applied to IT Operations

·        This role is suitable for junior to early confirmed profiles with strong learning agility and motivation to grow in AI driven production environments.

Technical Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of IT Production / Operations environments
  • Familiarity with: 
    • Linux operating systems
    • Application or infrastructure monitoring concepts
    • Logs, alerts and health checks
  • Foundational scripting skills: 
    • Python and/or Shell scripting
    • Ability to write simple automation scripts and API calls
  • Basic awareness of: 
    • DevOps principles
    • CI/CD concepts
    • Cloud or containerized environments (conceptual level)

AI & Automation Knowledge

  • Understanding of automation logic and workflows
  • Basic knowledge of AI / agentic concepts, such as: 
    • Rule‑based vs AI‑driven automation
    • Use of AI to assist monitoring, diagnostics or remediation
  • Ability to work with AI‑generated outputs (recommendations, actions, logs) in a controlled production context
  • Interest in learning agent‑based frameworks and AI‑assisted decision mechanisms

Production & OPS Abilities

  • Ability to follow runbooks and operational procedures
  • Support incident handling under supervision: 
    • Basic diagnosis
    • Escalation according to defined processes
  • Contribution to sanity checks, standard controls and preventive actions
  • Respect of security, reliability and operational constraints in all activities

·        Ability to work in a structured RUN environment, following processes and standards 

·        Strong learning agility and willingness to acquire new technical skills (automation, AI, OPS)

Education Level: 

·        Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
