Job Title: Associate - ALMT - P&L Production - APAC
Department: P&L and Valuations
About Business line/Function: Global Market Operations, also known as COCE (client operating center of excellence) is further divided into 4 departments i.e. Trade Processing & Support, PnL, Client Management & Change Management. Product Control in the wider market outside of BNP is Middle Office. Product Control consists of streams like Documentation & Reconciliation, Trade Support, P&L & Trading Portfolio & controls. Product Control teams are in regular contact with Market Front Office, Regional Back Office’s and Regional Finance & other support teams for their BAU.
Position Purpose: To oversee the daily operations of the ALM Treasury P&L and Trade Support team as a team manager by monitoring and managing daily work issues and contributing and upholding the kaizen culture of the team.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
· Responsible for preparation and analysis of Treasury and funding desks P&Ls in APAC:
by investigating any abnormal swing of P&L
by performing economic analysis of P&L
by ensuring accuracy of the P&L by-effects and attributes.
by reporting month end P&L information and adjustments to Finance.
Responsible for trade processing, amend and cancellation for the Treasury desks in APAC
Responsible for trade controls, and prompt rectification of booking issues impacting settlement and Treasury desk positions
Contribute to market parameters control and the adherence to the Global Markets P&L Policy
Contribute to improving systems or change of systems:
by addressing possible technology enhancements
by testing any change of systems
by addressing relevant issues surrounding implementation of new systems
Contribute to reconciliation controls and trade support functions for the Treasury perimeter
Responsible for portfolio controls and documentation of operational procedures for activities in-charge
To provide coverage of duties of other staff as assigned
Ensuring appropriate escalation to management and/or Permanent Control (or Compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified.
Contributing Responsibilities
Knowledge of money market, FX and interest rate (derivatives) products
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Good IT knowledge (Front- and Back-office systems, MS Office package)
VBA skills are preferred, and knowledge of Python programming is a plus
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
IB Equity Operations experience preferred, essentially in Trade Support functions
Experience working within algorithmic trading highly beneficial
Competency with MS Suite, especially Excel, and the ability to learn multiple programs quickly
High level of product knowledge in Equities • High level of knowledge of middle office and back-office systems
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Innovative - constantly identifying gaps in process and seeking improvements
Ethics and Control must have good work ethics and risk / control mind set
Communications ability to communicate effectively within the team and Front Office
Collaboration ability to work well with others especially in day-to-day resolution and escalation of issues
Specific Qualifications:
Graduate in Banking and Finance/Accountancy/Mathematics
Minimum of 5 years work experience in Product Control/Finance Control/Risk/Operations or related function
