Job Title: Sr. Business Analyst
Department: CEFS IT – CRM&S
About Business line/Function: CEFSIT – CRM&S Tax IT
Position Purpose: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in regulatory/audit reporting. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and a proven track record in stakeholder management, particularly with business teams, operations teams, and IT teams.
The candidate should also be well-versed in different project methodologies like Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile, with the ability to create user stories, manage backlogs, prioritize tasks, and act as a pseudo product owner. Additionally, an understanding of metadata and data analysis in the context of regulatory reporting is essential.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders including business teams, operations teams, and audit teams to gather requirements, understand processes, and ensure effective communication.
- Possess a deep understanding of financial products such as OTC derivatives, FX, options, cash bonds, and cash equities, along with their associated regulatory reporting requirements.
- Able to understand the business perspective and need from the business while gathering the requirements and be able to articulate when in various forums
- Creating Requirement Specifications in the form of user stories, FSD, BRDs – and those specific to APIs.
- Understand current state and propose target state. Able to model business processes.
- Utilize different project methodologies including Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile to create user stories, maintain backlogs, prioritize tasks, and effectively manage projects.
- Act as a pseudo product owner by engaging with stakeholders to define project scope, prioritize tasks, and provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Understand metadata and data analysis within the context of regulatory reporting, contributing to accurate and compliant reporting processes.
- Work closely with technical teams to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring successful implementation.
- Perform thorough documentation of business requirements, user stories, process flows, and project updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet regulatory standards and business needs.
- Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
- Ability to plan, design, and execute test cases
Contributing Responsibilities
- Contribute towards innovation; suggest new functional practices for improving the regulatory solution.
- Contribute towards audit reporting cycles and extended support during the ad-hoc reports.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in regulatory reporting or related financial domain.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to interact with senior stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in stakeholder management, ensuring smooth communication and alignment of project objectives.
- In-depth understanding of financial products – Core Banking, Financial Markets and Regulatory reporting domain
- Familiarity with different project methodologies including Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to convert complex business requirements into actionable solutions.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance in regulatory reporting.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills, enabling effective cross-functional project execution.
- Proactive with a solid sense of ownership and accountability for tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence optimally at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in MS-Excel, MS-Word & MS-PowerPoint
- Understanding on Capital Market Domain including different Asset Classes, Financial Products
- Working knowledge of SQL and ability to query database for analysis and investigation of issues.
- Ability to work in an autonomous fashion with low levels of management intervention
Specific Qualifications:
- Working knowledge in corporate banking finance and global market finance
- Understanding of Capital Market Domain including different Asset Classes, Financial Products
- Knowledge of Financial Regulatory topics, ideally to include FATCA, MIFID, Dodd Frank, EMIR, AEOI, etc.
- Having knowledge of any Tax or Audit domain is a plus.
Experience Level: Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in regulatory reporting or related financial domain.
