Job Title: Junior Data Scientist - Boost

Department: BOOST IDeA - AI

About Business line/Function: FRESH is a unique organization within the BNP PARIBAS IT Group. FRESH is responsible for the alignment of IT programs with the strategy and objectives of Finance and Risk. The BOOST-IDeA team, as part of the CONNECT umbrella within FRESH division, is a privileged partner of the Finance & Strategy and RISK Functions, a catalyst for efficiency and operational excellence. In particular, the AI Center of Expertise team aims to support our business partners in the collection/identification of eligible AI topics, the definition and design of the tooling strategy, the implementation of the solution and its maintenance in production environment.

Position Purpose: The chosen candidate will assume, in close coordination with the Head on the AI Center of Expertise; the role of "Junior Data Scientist" participating, along with the whole team, in supporting the business teams in the experimentation and industrialization of innovative projects (AI) i.e. from the POC to project instruction phases and implementation and deployment in the BNPP ITG Cloud infrastructure.

Candidate needs to have experience of working within a dynamic and demanding environment reacting to changing business needs. The candidate should be proficient in the core skillset. The candidate should take complete ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·  Participate in all workshops related to gathering of needs and presentation of requirements

·  Challenge requirements providing full and accurate explanation to stakeholders

·   Participate in the definition of the target architecture

· Participate to the design of the associated AI solution to meet user's needs

·  Follow the Proof of Concept if needed to experiment new models, algorithms, technical assets, …

· Participate to the industrialization process following ITG guidelines with the help of the project manager (project launching, instruction, …)

· Collaborate in the testing of the new solutions along with the target users

·  Get accustomed with methodology (Agile Scrum) and tooling used (JIRA, Octane, …) and act as a vector of their proper usage

·  Exchange with the various ITG experts to reach the full understanding of AI landscape (Service offers available, technical and security requirements, guidelines, …)

·     Support the integration of solutions into the BNPP ITG infrastructure

·     Manage the maintenance of the solutions in Production Environment

Transversal Responsibilities

· Acculturate our F&R-Solutions colleagues and our business partners, on AI capabilities helping them getting basic/medium knowledge and enlighten them on its benefits.

·       Act as the first point of contacts for local business partners in the collect and first-level assessment of potential AI-eligible needs.

 

Contributing Responsibilities

·  Participate to the "Ideation" phase used to identify pain points and possible topics eligible to AI

· Participate to the technological watch regarding AI at large: new algorithms, new models, new features, … in order to propose up-to-date solutions to our portfolio of projects

·  Should strictly adhere to organization processes.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Candidate must justify relevant experience on following streams: 

·       Minimum of 3 - 5 year (during school curriculum)  experience on AI projects having had the opportunity to work on a variety of AI fields: , minimum of 3 among following: Machine Learning, NLG, NLP, LLM, MLLM, IDP, OCR.

· Minimum knowledge of Agile methodology is required, especially “Scrum” methodology

 Native English is required.

 

Following skills are required: 

Technically

·      On below listed areas (Machine Learning, NLG, NLP, LLM, MLLM, ...)

·      Knowledge of available algorithms/models

·  Ability to train/finetune a model

 

Transversally 

·       Minimum level of Python coding

·       Domino platform

·       Understand the BNPP Technical Context

·       Structuring application following "DevOps" guidelines allowing industrialization and scale-up

·       Take ownership and use the services offered by the Group

 

Specific Qualifications:

Candidate must have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Data Engineering or Data Science.
