Job Title:  Team Leader – Global Markets E-Commerce Applications Support

Department: Global Markets IT

Business line/Function: CIB ITO Global Markets

Location: Hong Kong

Description:

As the Team Leader of Global Markets E-Commerce Applications Support, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering end-to-end support to Sales, Structuring, and Trading teams across Equities, Credit, and Rates—covering both structured and flow products. Your role combines technical leadership, business analysis, and operational resilience, ensuring seamless functionality of pre-trade and post-trade ecosystems, including product distribution platforms, quotation systems, trade routing workflows, and post-trade processes.

Acting as a hybrid Production Support & Business Analyst, you will own the full change lifecycle, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, high-impact solutions. You will proactively resolve live production issues, minimize operational risk, and enhance system stability while optimizing critical workflows—such as pricing, hedging, and trade booking—through data-driven insights and KPI tracking. Your focus on process innovation and efficiency gains will drive revenue growth, operational agility, and an exceptional client experience.

This role demands a strategic problem-solver with a strong technical and business mindset, capable of leading cross-functional initiatives, mentoring teams, and shaping a customer-centric, high-performance operation in a fast-paced global markets environment.

Responsibilities

  • Champion day-to-day team management, balancing operational efficiency with strategic initiatives while empowering team members to deliver consistent high-quality results.
  • Management and tracking of daily production problems and user requests, effective and timely resolution and communication with the clients.
  • Regular interaction with business users, development and infrastructure teams on system related issues and enhancement requests.
  • Maintain high availability of systems by continuously monitoring operation and performance.
  • Conduct pricing performance analysis and provide key risk and performance indicators for capacity planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Handle functional and technical analysis of business requirements on flow and structured product system enhancements and new feature developments.
  • Document findings, analysis, requirements, workflows, and technical design for IT development.
  • Partner closely with regional and global development teams to ensure seamless alignment and timely delivery of functional and technical solutions.
  • Execute rigorous system Quality Assurance Testing and support User Acceptance Testing, while managing production deployments of new versions for mission-critical business applications.
  • Follow ITIL Application Support methodology to carry out incident and system change management procedures.
  • Participate in support roster. Shift duty, weekend and holiday work as per requirements.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • A seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably in Information Technology, Finance, or a related field)
  • Domain expertise in capital markets, equities, derivatives and structured products.
  • Mastery in developing sophisticated process automation solutions and generating actionable KPIs using Python
  • Proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience
  • Knowledge of Excel / VBA, Shell scripting and Java is desirable.
  • Hands on experiences on Linux and Windows OS.
  • Proactive, meticulous, reliable and results oriented team player who thrives on self-driven learning.
  • Proven track record of operating in high-pressure trading floor environments is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to anticipate market and business evolution while driving continuous improvement.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools including Dynatrace, OpenSearch, Grafana, and Prometheus.
