About the job
- Provide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) transaction monitoring services to BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and Securities Services branches across Europe and the world, dealing with areas that include anti-money laundering, terrorism financing, tax evasion, fraud, bribery and high risk clients, considering the requirements in each jurisdiction
- All new joiners undergo an initial training course followed by an accreditation process which certifies the employee’s knowledge of the rules and procedures associated to the treatment of alerts. To be noted that only the successful completion of the accreditation process will enable the employee to perform the tasks required for this role. In case the newcomer is unable to conclude this certification with the required pass rate, her/his permanency in the AML Level 1 department will not be possible. As such, internal candidates will have to reactivate their mobility whilst external candidates will be dismissed during the probation period
Your Main Activities Are
- Review and assess alerts for money laundering risk through BNP Paribas' transaction monitoring system (Actimize-AML CIB) within agreed timeframes and liaise with Operational and Compliance teams to understand the process for payments and related monitoring requirements in each jurisdiction
- Conduct Due Diligence investigations for AML Monitoring Teams of suspicious payments and close false positive alerts or escalate suspicious payments to AML Level 2 teams for further investigation
- Maintain an appropriate audit trail and documentation in all instances, in order to evidence/support the review and resolution of each payment alert
- Ensure management is made aware of all pressing issues (escalations, blocking points, among others) in a timely fashion
- Contribute with suggestions to enhance systems, methodologies and process simplification
- Support effective capacity management across the department
Profile and Skills to Success
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting and Social Sciences
- Up to 2 years of Experience in Banking and Financial Operations and in Compliance
- Knowledge of Compliance - Financial Security
- Proficiency in Compliance Actimize and Fircosoft
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Pack - Microsoft Excel
- Fluency in English
- Ability to collaborate/Teamwork
- Attention to detail/rigor
- Critical thinking
