The position at a glance

 

Global Banking Operations Americas, supports the business via three units; Loan Servicing Operations, Trade Finance Operations and the Credit Middle Office, each supported by Production Support Teams.  The Legal Documentation and Covenant Control Team is part of the Production Support/Middle Office Team.  


Reports to: Assistant Vice President- Credit Middle Office 

 

 

In detail

Main Tasks

  • Verify all required Legal Documentation is received.  If not, follow up to obtain any missing documentation (with Deal site, Front Office, and/or Legal Counsel)
  • Input/validate in CreditNet documents that are received and/or missing and/or archived 
  • Upload documents in MCA
  • Update the legal doc tracking log and monitor non-completed tasks
  • Input/validate covenants for new/amended deals 
  • Source covenant documentation and update in MCA Covenant Module 
  • Perform conformity controls on legal documentation for clients that are being flagged as Watchlist or Doubtful
  • Filing of security interests
  • Tracking of security interests that have filed outside of CTM 
  • Follow up with Front Office for upcoming expiring security interests
  • Review of Legal Documentation for potential Notes to be Pledged to the Federal Reserve (BIC) when requested 
  • Perform conformity controls on legal documentation for clients that are being flagged as Watchlist or Doubtful
  • Monitor items assigned in Hobart
  • Notify Front Office and Risk of Covenant defaults including BNPP Rating Trigger events
  • Notify Loan Servicing and Front Office of Loan Margin Adjustments
  • Process payments of UCC invoices

Additional tasks

  • Respond to legal document and file requests and any questions relating thereto
  • Complete the input/release depository form for physical collateral in the vault
  • Investigate and respond to subpoena searches requested by the legal department
  • Identify ways to improve and create process efficiencies
  • Participate in cross training 
  • Assist in the training of new team members
  • Complete all assigned trainings in MyDevelopment before due date
  • Assist team in any questions related to processes/procedures
  • Participate in various projects 
  • Maintain strong communications and partnerships within ITO MO, Risk and business partners. 
  • Other duties assigned


Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday.

  • Excellent communication skills oral & written 
  • Able to establish and maintain a team oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks, work under time pressure constraints and to take ownership for the completion of tasks. 
  • Excellent communication skills in daily relations with other departments
  • Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of French and English is required.
