Job Title: Assistant Manager- Java Developer - Fixlink - Global Markets IT

Department: Global Markets IT

About Business line/Function: FX, Commodities & Settlements

Position Purpose: This position is to fulfil the requirement of Java backend developer in Fixlink team with needful exposure on design/ implementation / enhancements of software applications with known best practices addressing requirements. Need to work closely with developers and BA across different geographical locations (London) of team to cover target DEV deliverables in application road map.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·       To establish detailed program specifications through discussion with business analysts and end users (when required)

·       To be aware of non-functional requirements, ensure that implemented code is robust, maintainable, secure and efficient. 

·       To clarify precisely what actions the program is intended to perform when there is ambiguity.

·       To devise solutions to problems, evaluate and provide options to technical lead/Manager.

·       To work as a team to design and develop parts of the system.

·       To improve existing software implementations by enhancing features, fixing bugs

·       To be aware of the business domain the software is being created for

·       To follow technical architecture standards where applicable

·       To work closely with testers and business analysts to ensure software functions as expected.

·       To be involved in 3rd line support actively, respond support emails, provide solutions on timely manner.

·       To participate in out-of-hours / daytime support as required

·       To escalate risks / issues to IT management.

Contributing Responsibilities

• Create functional specifications, flow charts, root cause analysis and other diagnostic documentations.

• Have a good understanding of the data flows and understand its lifecycle of source to destination.

• Identify risk in process and propose / implement controls.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

• Knowledge of Core Java, Spring boot, Sql Server is must.

• Able to work independently and suggest process enhancement ideas.

• Good working knowledge of tools such as Sonar, Ansible, Fortify.

Specific Qualifications:

* Minimum 7 years of experience along with bachelor’s degree.

• Prior experience in similar domain. 

 

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

  • Core Java (11 or higher), Spring boot, Spring Batch, JPA, Hibernate, Shell Script, DevOps (CI/CD)
  • Microsoft SQL server
  • Python, Kafka, Ansible Scripts, GIT Hub, Java Micro services, Restful services (good to have)
  • Maven, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Gradle (good to have)

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
