What is this position about?

The Private Capital Analyst  (LP/AO) plays a critical role in the Private Capital (PC) team. Reporting to the PC Assistant Manager, the role provides technical expertise and a reviewing function with respect to PC Administration services delivered to the BNP Paribas client base.  

 

The role is responsible for the output and service delivery of the PC team’s BAU and reporting activities and will also include the provision of technical expertise for all regulatory / statutory change, the support of business change projects and the review of business improvements processes. In addition, the role will provide technical support and input for any process re-engineering. Finally, this role will perform an oversight / knowledge transfer role for the PC Junior analysts /s in the team. 

 

 

 

Primary Role Responsibilities

 

Reporting and operational oversight will include the review and delivery of the following activities: 

 

·          Support, oversight and control for all processing, recording and control of capital calls, distributions, valuations and secondary purchases/sales

·          Review of capital call payment instructions

·          Review of periodic and ad-hoc reporting

·          New security set-up and liaise with the Legal team, clients and Fund Managers to ensure assets are registered correctly

·          Analysis of transactions’ components from an AML/KYC/FATCA perspective

·          Assistance in completing all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements across the BNP Paribas client base

 

This role will support any onboarding and transitions as well as Yearend and periodic planning processes to ensure a consistent and sustainable operating model. 

 

In addition, this role will participate in senior client meetings along with the PC Assistant Manager and Head of PC, and/or Relationship Management, providing expert technical advice.  They will also provide any technical input requested for the RFP process for New Business in association with the Sales and Relationship Management team and may represent BNP Paribas’ services and product offering as required during the tender and due diligence process. They are subsequently responsible for ensuring the operational implementation of any service delivery changes to meet client needs.

INDIVIDUAL LEADERSHIP:

 

·         Participation in senior client and relationship management meetings where required

·         Oversight and controls for all processes related to recording of capital calls, distributions, valuations and secondary purchases/sales

·         Operational leadership of change incorporating Client requirements, process reviews and providing technical expertise on process re-engineering 

·         Full service delivery in line with the clients SLA’s and internal KPI’s

·         Take charge of onboarding new clients, restructures, product development, statutory and regulatory change

·         Supporting the overall service delivery via cross-team co-operation

·         Act as a conduit of change for business, IT and client projects across the organisation

·         Actively contribute and participate in all Culture and Leadership initiatives

·         Responsibility for ensuring the education, implementation and compliance with BNP Paribas policies

 

 

CLIENT SERVICE:

·         First point of contact for all client queries in relation to all aspects of their PC assets, especially for client transition and change topics

·         Active participation in senior client meetings as well as technical escalation point for client issues or changes

·         Governance of Yearend financial reporting to meet specific client SLA terms

·         Ensure implementation of operational risk and legislative requirements in all output

·         Work closely with product specialists and portfolio managers to develop and maintain relationships with existing clients and prospects 

·         Client onboarding, preparing client communication material, and responses to RFP’s leading to new business generation

 

 

COMMERCIAL FOCUS 

 

·         Analysis, innovation, development and implementation of change and process improvement 

·         Exposure to broad range of investing strategies including Fund of Funds, Direct and Co-Investment 

·         Maintain and monitor the BNPP Risk Control Framework for the services provided to clients, including formal supervision and working closely with Risk and Compliance, identifying potential risks and developing controls to mitigate them

·         Through influence and delivery across the business be seen as a PC expert for the Client Delivery team

EXPERIENCE

 

·         Extensive  experience within the financial services industry

·         Proven track record within Fund Administration 

·         Proven change management and process improvement capability 

·         Competent strategic thinker with the ability to create and implement solutions

·         Ability to foster and maintain strong interpersonal relationships both internally and externally

·         Senior Analyst for PC requires an individual with technical background in Fund Administration incorporating all aspects of valuation of PC assets, unit pricing, tax , accounting and  reporting

The candidate needs to understand the role which Investment Administration plays within the broader organisation and thereby understand the bigger picture of impacts and influences Investment Administration have with its stakeholders.  

 

It is important that the candidate is able to respond in professional manner to Clients, BNP Paribas staff, colleagues and executives, ensuring always that the reputation of the department and BNP Paribas is enhanced by their actions.     The candidate will require excellent communication skills both written and oral. This individual should have a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in their work.
