About Business line/Function:
Business line is IFSO & Primary Function for treasury operations is to manage Treasury products which includes record/posting all the transaction notifications and miscellaneous posting, i.e., interest, contributions and withdrawals etc. We match foreign exchange deals executed by the Client and ensure timely & proper settlement of these deals in the respective markets. Coordinating with both internal and external stake holders to resolve Cash & FXMM queries. FX. This is to ensure client will receive an updated cash position next day. As a part of Middle office Team Treasury operation serves Client Clean Cash payment & prefunding FX.
Position Purpose
BNP Paribas Securities Operations provides services to global clients in the Asian region and some “follow-the-sun” activities for European clients. Our services include custody operations, fund accounting, middle office operations, static data management, IRP and other transversal services. The Trade Processing activity under Middle Office Operations is very important and critical process of handling clients globally across locations. Trade processing department performs daily BAU as per Standard Operating Procedure for the team and Client.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Ensure all agreed SLA’s are consistently met within the agreed timelines.
- Ensure cross-training and knowledge transfer within the team and processes are conducted periodically.
- Analyze previous incidents, identify patterns and root causes, and apply any additional controls where necessary.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve Cash & FXMM queries.
- Ensure clients receive an updated cash position next day. As a part of Middle office Team Treasury operation serves Client Clean Cash payment & prefunding FX.
- Perform a supervisory check for all critical activities as identified in the process.
- Handle escalations, critical tasks, and new processes, by providing effective resolution.
- Ensure that team meeting/brainstorming sessions are conducted when required and share best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team members.
- Plan and chart out the IDP for the team members for attaining the desired objective in alignment with team goal.
- Review checklist to ensure all the tasks are completed.
- Able to clearly understand and envisage the Swift messages (MT103, MT202, MT210, MT304, MT300, MT299, MT199 etc)
- Support the process as needed, including during team member absences.
- Plan and effectively manage leave schedules for the team
- Plan and effectively manage the staffing and backup plans
- Coordinate with the clients and internal teams on any new business requirements or changes in the business that could impact on the process.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Constantly update and review procedures to keep up to date with the change in process.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and new initiatives.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly controls to ensure completeness of processing and that any inappropriate postings, matching etc. is identified and resolved promptly.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and share the best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team members.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Candidate must be a bachelor’s degree holder with a degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Treasury Management or any other related field of studies.
- Thorough understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and investment banking operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and service orientation.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle high volumes of activity
- Must be amenable to work on a AUS/NZ Shift schedule (7:00 am to 4:00 pm SGT)
Other/Specific Qualifications (if required)
- Candidates should be willing and flexible to work in shifts.
- Must be prepared to work in any shift supporting Asia/Americas/European business hours.
