Job Title: Analyst

Department: SMS CAE Expenses – APAC

About Business line/Function: CIB Finance

Position Purpose: The Jobholder is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting in financial and management accounting systems, production of the monthly expenses accounting and management reporting including preparation of standard and ad hoc reports, supporting the annual expense budget & periodic forecasts exercise, calculation of intercompany charges/billing, responding to audit queries and coordinating with various teams to ensure proper completion of monthly deliverable. 

All local reporting is performed in accordance with relevant and applicable instructions, requirements within the deadlines set forth, with complete audit trail to follow.

Direct Responsibilities

Management Accounting & Control Functions

             Ensure End to End data quality and accuracy of accounting & reporting for a specific list of European subsidiaries and SPVs, including preparation of Matisse Flows and Management Accounting Expenses

             Maintain the general accounting of all entities, including overheads, inter-entity reinvoicing (Transfer Pricing, SRF, etc.)

             Perform and/or control the accounting and tax classification for overheads, pay-roll and employee benefit expenses (HR related), depreciation and amortization on tangible and intangible assets (and other provisions)

             Control & Explain Corporate Accounting & Expenses

             Calculation, booking and integrity checks related to IFRS16 Calculation 

             Provide Finance supervision & completion on LoD1 control performed by Back Offices operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data feeding done by the back-office operation tools related to Corporate Accounting & Expenses 

             Transform the accounting data into management accounting (profitability and cost allocation by Business Line) following the MARP (Management Accounting Rules and Principles)

             Provide assistance in coordination with the management in responding to questions from the external auditors, Operations, and other support grou by:

             Ensuring prompt resolution and follow-up of questions / requests for information

             Escalating problems/issues to the team leader and/or head

             Providing quality service to other teams

Contributing Responsibilities

Projects, Systems Support, Operational Process Improvements

 

             Assist in identifying process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the team’s efficiency and effectiveness  

             Participate in the upgrades / version releases of respective reporting tools, as well as system amendments / enhancements required to facilitate new / modified reporting requirements. In connection with this effort, assist in user acceptance testing and troubleshooting after deployment.

             Help formulate system enhancements for operational process improvements in production, control procedures and workflow to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Assisting in integrating and streamlining reporting under the team’s responsibility.

             Provide cross-training to colleagues and perform specific duties as assigned (e.g. coverage for colleagues

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

             5 years of experience in a global financial services company 

             Prior accounting, management reporting experience desirable

             Excellent PC skills; ability to learn new systems quickly

             Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, and graphs)

             Working knowledge and understanding of Smartview/Essbase, SAP, Business Objects 

Specific Qualifications:

CA / MBA preferred 

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

    • MS Office
    • SAP
    • Alteryx, Tableau etc. (will be an added advantage)
