Business Overview:

The Latin America region is a strategic market for BNP Paribas, with a diverse range of countries contributing to the bank's business and long-standing relationships with clients. While Brazil is the largest economy in the region, other major countries, such as Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Argentina, are also significant contributors. Notably, BNP Paribas hasmaintaineda continuous presence in Colombia for over 50 years,demonstratingits commitment to the region. 

BNP Paribas has a rich history in Hispanic Latin America, with a presence dating back to 1914. Today, the bank employsnearly 3,900people across its Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and International Financial Services divisions in the region. The CIB team in Hispanic Latin Americacomprisesapproximately 400 professionals, ensuring comprehensive coverage of BNP Paribas' client franchise in the region.  

All of BNP Paribas' business linesoperatein Hispanic Latin America, with a structured approach that provides clients with access to specialists according to sector, product, or geographic region. In response to growing globalization, the bank's regional platforms enable it to support clients across the globe, with key hubs including: 

 

  • New York and Sao Paulo, where a team of professionals covers Latin America  
  • Major European cities, such as Paris, London, Frankfurt, and Madrid

In Colombia, BNP Paribas has a significant presence through four entities and two representative offices, which together represent the Group's diverse activities. The Corporate and Institutional Banking division is represented by the BNP Paribas S.A. Representative Office, Corporación Financiera, and BNP Paribas Securities Services SociedadFiduciariaS.A. Additionally, the Investment and Protection Services division is represented by an insurance company (Cardif) and a Representative Office for Asset Management Services, and the Retail Banking division is represented a leasing company (Arval).

 

Job Purpose

  • Contributes to building a more scalable and efficient operating model by supporting the integration of data, automation and AI driven tools into day-to-day trading and operational workflows.
  • Help transform the FX/Trades desk by automating manual processes, improving data capabilities and introducing AI based solutions that reduce operational risk and enhance decision making.

 

Duties and Responsibilities


Help with the development and automation of current and prospective reports.
  1. Support the analysis and documentation of critical processes.
  2. Assist in automating repeatable tasks such as booking, validation, reconciliation, report generation and control checks.

 

Develop and contribute ideas and solutions that accelerate and improve existing processes.
  1. Lead the analysis of market and client data to surface trends, patterns, and opportunities that enhance pricing and client engagement.
  2. Translate data insights into simple, actionable recommendations for the trading and sales teams.
  3. Design, test, and deploy AI‑driven assistants, alert generators, and basic predictive models.
  4. Implement LLM‑based tools that streamline operational workflows (e.g., chat assistants, auto‑generated confirmations).
  5. Document senior traders’ pricing logic, risk controls, and execution practices. Convert that knowledge into structured formats such as process documentation, playbooks, or simple decision frameworks.
  6. Drive a “knowledge‑sharing” initiative that reduces reliance on individual expertise.
  7. Identify quick‑win automation opportunities, measure their impact (time saved, error reduction), and champion a culture of curiosity around new data‑automation and AI tools.
  • Replace Sales analyst on daily tasks and duties whenever absent.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business Analytics, Project Management or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience in Software/automation development, Data Engineer, Data analysis or data pipeline construction, Business analysis / process improvement projects.
  • Medium level of English, Microsoft Excel, Power point, Proficient in Python and SQL, familiarity with RPA tools or ability to write robust scripts/macros, experience with data visualization tools, exposure to AI/ML concepts (LLMs, basic predictive modelling) basic version control knowledge (Git).
