Artificial intelligence (AI) and data science are a one of major pillars of Arval's strategy. You will contribute to Arval's growth by identifying use cases that bring value to different functions (sales, marketing, operations, finance, risks, etc.) and implementing them with AI methodology.

Brief description of our company - ARVAL COMPETENCE CENTER 

We belong to the multinational bank group BNP Paribas and in Slovakia we operate as an organizational unit of Arval Slovakia since 2015. Our main task is to provide support to Arval BNP Paribas group entities. Arval BNP Paribas is a provider of operating leasing in 30 countries worldwide. The support we provide is associated with technical and financial support as well as with expertise, consulting, and outsourcing services. Moreover, we are present in all fields that are linked to operating leasing such as customer contact center, controlling, warranty, insured accidents, or back office. One unit of the company is composed of Department of Operations – call center, communication with drivers and technical department. The other one covers financial field such as complex accounting advisory.

Main responsibilities on the position are:

• Understand business needs and identify opportunities for analytics, automation, and machine‑learning solutions
• Analyze, prepare, and explore data using Data Hub and approved data sources
• Extract meaningful insights from internal and external datasets to support operational and strategic decision‑making
• Build predictive models (classification, regression, forecasting) and pattern‑detection models (clustering, dimensionality reduction)
• Develop clean, well‑documented, production‑ready Python code with focus on quality, interpretability, and maintainability
• Ensure model interpretability, monitor performance, detect bias, and validate alignment with business needs
• Collaborate with IT, business stakeholders, and data experts to continuously improve analytical solutions
• Solve business issues using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques
• Contribute to Arval’s data‑driven strategy and follow best practices in data management, data protection, and AI governance
• Stay up to date with emerging Data Science methods and tools

Technical Requirements

• Python (advanced) – model development, data processing, production‑grade code
• ETL processing in Dataiku – design and build data pipelines
• Domino – model development, experimentation, and model management
• GitLab – version control, documentation, CI/CD workflows
• MS Office (especially Excel) and BI tools – visualization and presentation of insights
• Compliance with internal standards – AI governance, data protection, model‑risk management

We are looking for candidates with: 

• Engineering degree or an equivalent university degree (Master's level) with a specialization in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Applied Statistics
• Expertise in Machine Learning 
• Proficiency in Python Data/ML libraries focused on data analysis and machine learning
• Strong analytical skills and attention to details
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Fluent English
