Job Title: Run and Change Java Full-Stack Engineer

Department: IT Functions - IT IAM Tribe

About Business line/Function:
BNP Paribas Cardif is the insurance subsidiary of BNP Paribas. We are a worldwide leader of the Credit Protection Insurance market with strong positions in savings and protection insurance in more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America. 

Within the IT department, the Tribe IT IAM (Insurance Asset Management) is structured into cross-functional squads to drive, accelerate, and maximize client-value creation. These squads oversee IT projects and ensure the operational continuity of the Asset Management Division’s business applications. Their core activities include:

  • Order management & life-cycle follow-up,
  • Position management,
  • Valuation of investment mandates,
  • Administration of financial reference data (securities, pricing, securities transactions, etc.),
  • Portfolios accounting,
  • Management of financial cash flows.

The ULI Squad (Unit Linked Investments) is part of the IT IAM Tribe and is responsible for business applications built on Starcust software edited by Cleva Solutions vendor, and in-house software such as Matiass that provides :

  • Unit linked order book,
  • OPCVM order management & life-cycle follow-up,
  • Asset Liability Matching.

These business applications are classified as sensitive and critical because they must meet highavailability requirements and are exposed to significant financial risks.

 
Position Purpose: 
Mission takes place within the ULI Squad, whose goal is to handle autonomously the RUN activities (morning-checks verifications, incident management, production support, user assistance, etc.) as well as the CHANGE activities. The squad shares common motivations: proximity to the business line, agility, and quality of delivered services, combining business-line skills with IT expertise.

 
Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

  • Operations / Maintenance
  • Perform daily morning checks and publish the report (as part of a rotating shift)
  • Investigate and resolve technical incidents
  • Implement or apply bug fixes to fix anomalies
  • Remediatesecurityvulnerabilities
  • Support the deployment of the latest Starcustvendor releases
  • Support deployment plan executions (on-call duties and night/weekend work, 1-2 times per month)
  • Proposeimprovements and action plans for recurring incidents
  • Contribute to preparations for extreme application exercises
  • Assist users with technical issues
  • Development
  • Design, develop, test and maintain Java, Angular, SQL code, Control-M jobs, KSH scripts
  • Estimatecosts and timelines
  • Create and update production and technical documentation as needed
  • Prepare test environments and support testing phases
  • Perform non-regression testing to ensure technical stability

  • Ability to interpret and optimize execution plans (EXPLAIN PLAN), manage indexes, and apply best practices for databases.
  • Ability to organize oneself to achieve ticket closure, track progress, follow up, and escalate to teams as needed

Specific Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience along with Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Object-oriented programming and microservices architecture (master)  
  • Web services such as REST (specifications and API management) (master) 
  • Automated testing: JUnit, Selenium, Gherkin, Cucumber
  • ITIL (incident, problem and change) concept: Service Now
  • Knowledges as a software developer:  
  • DevOps tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD, XL Release
  • Database: Oracle (ExaData, ExaCC)

  • Knowledge of the functional context of asset management or previous experience with Starcust would be appreciated
