Job Title: VP - Senior Business Credit Advisor

About Business line/Function:
Securities Services is a leading global custodian and securities services specialist that provides multi-asset post-trade and asset servicing solutions for buy and sell-side market participants, corporates and issuers.
CIB2S Business Credit Advisors (BCA) Team is positioned within SBD&T, reporting to the Head of 2S APAC Strategy and centrally to the Global Head of CIB2S Business Credit Risk Office in Paris. The team’s mandate is cross Clients Lines. The team works with various stakeholders and with all CIB2S locations and interacts with different Business Lines and Functions.
Position Purpose:
CIB2S BCA team is a team of experts in credit risk in relation to post trade services for CIB2S. As experts, the team provides risk assessment for these activities to CIB2S Business, FIC ICAT and RISK credit delegation holders in the context of credit requests and credit annual reviews. The team members also contribute to raise risk awareness across CIB2S and in particular CIB2S APAC Territory.
BCA provides globally comprehensive coverage of all CIB2S counterparties/clients. BCA APAC covers APAC Geography and other locations as determined by the Global Head of BCA. The senior role may handle more sophisticated and complex deals (e.g. clients with weak ratings, complex activity or large risks).

Direct Responsibilities
Credit risk approval process:
- Review credit requests prepared by the Coverage/Front and challenge them when proposed activity set-up and/or risk mitigants do not seem appropriate or not in line with BNPP Credit Policies.
- Calibrate amount of credit limit to be requested.
- Provide credit analysts and credit officers with a risk opinion on the request
- Participating in credit committees representing Business in partnership with Client Development.
- Follow-up post committee with the relevant stakeholders on any pending conditions
- Participate to client due diligences when deemed appropriate.
- Analyze the impacts from a credit risk standpoint of amendments to legal agreements and provide recommendations to decision makers.
- Lead or contribute to projects related to CIB2S credit risk topics and portfolio analysis.
- CIB2S activities, its environment and credit risk methodologies are constantly evolving. Maintain a proactive awareness of these evolutions and share with the team, Management and/or other Business partners when needed.
Reinforcing 2S risk awareness across the organization
- Enhance the understanding of CIB2S activities and associated risks across ICAT and RISK MFI organizations.
- Develop and reinforce credit risk awareness within the Client Development community by performing training sessions.
Strategic risk analysis & anticipation
- Keep abreast of macro-economic developments and on those impacting individual credit perimeter.
- Represent BCA in the APAC regional governance bodies to present results of risk monitoring and escalate any relevant risk topics (credit, counterparty, framework).
- Country risk monitoring: use existing frameworks (country envelope) and help develop new methods to monitor holistically risk exposures to sensitive countries.
Advisory on product risk framework evolutions
- Advise Products teams of potential credit risk impacts during TAC/NACs preparation phase.
- Provide 2S Business input to transversal projects concerning evolutions of risk. methodologies; ensure implementation of risk methodology reviews in the APAC perimeter
(Note: BCA team's involvement is not systematic, only when requested by Products team).

Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Essential:
- Credit / counterparty risk management within a financial institution or a risk consultancy
- Securities Services business Product team
- Good knowledge of credit risk management techniques and risk measures
- Detailed knowledge of specific Finance principles and processes with a full understanding of the area of specialism, and able to translate knowledge and experience into recommendations to improve team operating practices. Good working knowledge of a wide range of BNPP policies, procedures, regulations and legislation. Excellent written and oral English skills to articulate technical issues and to be able to take the complex and make them simple to enable effective communication with individuals across the business.

- Excellent communication and IT skills
