Position Purpose: 

BNP Paribas Asset Management is part of BNP Paribas Group and is responsible for the process of managing and monitoring assets, on behalf of individual and corporate clients.  BNPP AM offers funds and mandates towards his clients.  These funds & mandates are managed by Portfolio Managers, who are based in the different locations across the globe. 

Investment Operations is responsible for handling and monitoring all services, in order that the Portfolio Managers are able to manage daily their portfolios. Corporate Actions Operations is one of the teams within Investment Operations

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Team Head to lead our Corporate Actions team in Chennai. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate setup of corporate events, providing professional and prompt responses to meet clients' requirements.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • Act as a reference point for the team members and train/guide them through the daily activities.
  • Allocate work, set priorities for the day and manage complex tasks in daily operations.
  • Define, implement, and enforce governance frameworks, controls, and operating standards.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for delivery risks, audit findings, and client concerns.
  • Represent the function in senior management, global governance forums, and regulatory interactions.
  • Ensure operational resilience, business continuity, and compliance readiness.
  • Perform daily controls on team activity as per existing checklists to ensure priorities have been respected and tasks have been correctly performed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and assist staff’s in clarifying their questions/doubts in the BAU
  • Participate in Brainstorming Sessions and share the best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team members.
  • Consistently evaluate and update documented procedures to ensure they are complete, accurate and current.

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic transformation initiatives including automation, system changes, and operating model evolution.
  • Lead adoption of regulatory changes and assess operational impacts.
  • Sponsor talent development, leadership pipelines, and succession planning.
  • Oversee audit responses, issue remediation, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Responsible to deliver and meet KPI in accordance to the set standard.

Must act according to protocols defined for Business contingencies (BCP).

Specific Qualifications:

  • Total of 10 to 14 years of experience in a financial organization ideally with knowledge on corporate Actions & Income 
  • Graduation / Post Graduation from the recognized University
  • Working experience with the most important data providers: Bloomberg, Telekurs, Reuters.
  •  Candidates should be willing and flexible to work in any shifts 

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

  • In depth understanding on the system functionalities. The applications we use and data retrieval from vendors.
  • Trouble shooting skills set to run smooth BAU.
  • Financial Markets: Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and products (e.g., stocks, bonds, derivatives, currencies). 

Programming Skills: Familiarity with programming languages like macro, Microsoft applications

  • Communication: Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas simply.

Education Level: Post Graduate degree in Finance or a related field.
