What is this position about?
Support the Team Leader of Performance Steering for Global Market activities and ALMT APAC
• Control over the quality and adequacy of management accounting figures
• Budget coordination for revenues, expenses, headcounts and métiers allocation Keys;
• Actuals Reporting and analysis against Budget and prior periods;
• Accompanying Metiers with their evolution and piloting needs
Working with Internal clients:
• APAC Metiers (ALMT & Global Markets primarily)
• APAC Performance Steering & Financial Synthesis teams
• ISPL PM (Performance Managers), Country PMs and Local Finance teams
• Central PM Métier Teams (for ALMT & Global Markets)
• Internal Audit (IG), on ad hoc basis
Working Internal suppliers:
• Financial Synthesis team,
• ISPL,
• Middle Offices,
• Central PM Métier teams
• Local Accounts payable teams
What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?
Primary Role Responsibilities
1. Review and control over data quality of the Métier PnL
• Liaise with Central PM team for managed view and client contribution figures
• Track any change in portfolio or cost center structure and perform impact assessment, implement required modifications to existing reports/controls.
• Control and Analysis of revenues => help to explain variances (vs. prior periods, vs. budget …)
• Control and Analysis of direct expenses / headcounts => help to explain variances (vs. prior periods, vs. budget, …)
• Monitor internal Métier allocation keys (ensure they are reviewed on regular basis and kept relevant, ensure any recharging to other Metiers / Region is validated by all stakeholders before being implemented)
• Analysis and consistency controls over indirect allocated expenses impacting Metiers (including Head Office components)
• Specific/Ad-hoc analysis of direct managed expenses
2. Perform monthly and quarterly reporting
• Scope: Flash revenues, Flash costs, Business Reviews, Cost nature aligned reports (T&E, Communications for instance) other specific reporting to regional, local team heads and Business Managers.
• Pre/post control of reporting data quality accompanied by value added comments
• Analysis and discussion with Metiers on a regular basis to understand business environment and business evolution
• Ensure adequacy and relevancy of available steering tools & reports offered to Metiers’ management
• Proactively contribute to the review, maintenance and optimization of reporting production
• Ensure adequate archiving and tracking of official reporting produced.
3. Analyze the performance of Métiers and monitor its metrics
• Perform regular forecast / prospective analysis
• Propose ad hoc analysis over specific performance indicators
• Organize, animate and contribute to the Budget exercise works through controls, loading preparation and dedicated reporting.
4. Coordination with Métier’s Business Management
• Participate in and animate regular communication forums with the métiers to be informed of any structural or strategic changes impacting their financials and to report their business’s performance to them as well as to local business heads.
• Communication to the Metiers’ BM of regulatory or internal evolutions with potential impact in Métier’s performance
Other contributions
• Participate in and contribute to transversal projects within the performance steering function
• Participate in and contribute to wider finance projects impacting accounting / new tools deployment
What is required for you to succeed?
• Analytical mindset
• Prior experience in Management Accounting, Accounting/Audit or Business role
• Good inter-personal relationship skills
• Fluent English level written & spoken
• Receptive to change and adaptive personality
• Mastery of Microsoft Office pack especially Excel. Hands-on experience on Power BI would be appreciated.
• Masters in finance/accounting or equivalent
• Masters in data analysis or equivalent
