Trade Finance Agency Officer |
MISSION
Within Group BNP Paribas ITO Function, Global Trade Operations, a community of 700* people in the 3 CIB regions & 50 countries, leverage on their integrated and global model to accompany the business strategy being the Global Trade operations Platforms a key enablers of the transformation.
The European Trade Finance Service Center has 150 employees across 20 nationalities in Spain and provides solutions for Domestic and international Guarantees, Syndicated guarantees, Fronting, Green and sustainable linked guarantees and Documentary products (Import and Export) for both, corporations or institutions, in close collaboration with the Global Trade Solutions teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Agency Officer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Agency, in accordance with internal procedures, and providing support to the TFSC Issuance team. The Agency Officer will act as a liaison between the Borrower, Lenders, and other stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and that the Guarantee Syndication Agreement/Facility is utilized in accordance with the agreed terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Set-up and Closing:
- Coordinate the collection and exchange of documentation between the client, bank syndicate, and legal advisors.
- Manage the preparation of administrative details, templates, and checklists for Lenders and Borrowers.
- Verify that all required information is received and that the deal is properly set up.
- Guarantee Syndication Agreement/Facility Management:
- Monitor the utilization of the Guarantee Syndication Agreement/Facility, ensuring that all contractual commitments and conditions are respected.
- Inform Lenders and the Borrower of any changes, waivers, or amendments to the agreement.
- Coordinate with the Issuance team to ensure that guarantees are issued in accordance with the agreed terms.
- Communication and Information Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Lenders' contacts and information.
- Ensure that all communications with the Borrower, Lenders, and other stakeholders are clear, concise, and compliant with BNP Paribas' internal rules and regulations.
- Manage the distribution of reports, notices, and other documents to the relevant parties.
- Reporting and Covenants:
- Ensure that the Borrower provides financial and non-financial reports as required by the agreement.
- Monitor compliance with financial covenants and notify Lenders of any breaches or potential breaches.
- Coordinate with the Borrower and Lenders to resolve any issues related to reporting or covenant breaches.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate and organized files and records, both physical and digital.
- Prepare and distribute regular activity reports to Clients and Lenders.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required to support the Agency unit.
REQUIREMENTS
Training and occupational experience
Strong academic history, Master degree in Finance, Business school with a major in Finance or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a similar role
- Knowledge of syndicated master agreements and Export Credit Agreements
- Fluent English (mandatory); French (preferred); Spanish (a plus)
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Planner and other software tools used by the Agency unit.
- Knowledge of banking and financial regulations, particularly those related to guarantee syndication agreements.
