Job Title: Data Management Analyst Hedge Funds

About Business line/Function:
Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC) is a department in charge of the relationship management of key Financial Institutions, building long-term relationships and promoting the full portfolio of Business solutions BNPP can offer.
Within FIC, the Institutional Credit Analyst Team (ICAT) is a key domain of the first line of defense of the Bank, in charge of the assessment of Institutional clients’ credit profile and recommendation to delegation holders of credit authorizations.
The team covers all type of Financial Institutions: Banks, Insurances, Sovereign, Brokers, other non-banks financial institutions, pensions funds, funds, hedge funds, regulated funds, funds of hedge funds, agency arrangements and asset managers.
Position Purpose:
The Data Management Analyst will be actively contributing to the credit process and risk monitoring of Hedge Funds worldwide, in tight collaboration with Credit Teams and RISK MFI in the regions.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities
1. Net Asset Value Data (NAV), Performance and Risk Metrics Data Collection and Management
ü Collect NAV, Performance, Leverage, Liquidity and Sensitivity data on a portfolio of Hedge Funds from various sources (emails, Asset Manager websites, Fund Administrators, External providers) and enter into internal credit systems for use in various risk forums and to meet regulatory expectations around hedge fund oversight
ü Liaise with portfolio credit analyst coverage to develop understanding of key risk metrics and nuances of how individual clients report/calculate their statistics to ensure accuracy and consistency in our data collection
ü Ensure all legal clauses relating to NAVs are present and correctly updated in RISK Navigator by the credit officers, such as NAV Trigger Levels, Including or Excluding Redemptions, NAV Floors.
ü Ensure that updates are performed with a maximum delay of 30 days after reporting date
ü Ensure that newly onboarded Hedge Funds are properly captured and that NAV/performance history is updated asap in RN tool
2. Organize and Prepare the Monthly HF NAV monitoring forum
ü Organize the Monthly HF NAV monitoring forums with credit teams in each region (retroplanning with CRC and Credit Team, book the meeting)
ü Provide justification for missing/late NAV updates, missing triggers, Large NAV moves and NAV trigger breaches for the Monthly HF NAV monitoring forum in coordination with the credit analysts
ü Formalize and circulate minutes for the Monthly HF NAV monitoring forums
ü For all NAV Triggers breaches, these must be escalated to delegation holders and an action plan for resolution must be agreed internally between RISK and Coverage before reverting to the Fund.
3. Risk Reporting & Monitoring
ü Perform data extractions, produce statistics/indicators and presentations for reporting exercises under the supervision of Senior Team members;
ü Contribute to Excess Management and closing of excesses;
ü Contribute to the quality of process: use adequately the workflow system, maintain critical client data, interact when needed with the various stakeholders of the credit process
4. Assist Credit Analyst Team with Key Approval and Underwriting Processes
ü Work with coverage analysts to help with credit approval documentation for certain higher volume/velocity accounts to meet expectations for onboarding
ü Over time, begin to train on trade analysis and approval processes to help the team deal with the heavy global flow of daily derivative and financing trade requests to be risked out for initial margin requirements and compliance with internal risk limits and guidelines
ü Other ad hoc projects to help the credit team stay on top of deliverables around portfolio monitoring, client onboarding, annual credit reviews, trade analysis and various risk governance forums

Specific Qualifications:
Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Financial Markets or other relevant areas.
At least 2 years experience in a similar function
