Business Overview:
Asset Finance & Securitization (AFS) is a global business within BNP Paribas CIB, straddling activities across both Global Banking & Global Markets. The AFS umbrella includes several businesses, including includes Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO), Senior Portfolio Financing (SPF), Asset-backed Securities (ABS), Project & Infrastructure Finance, Transportation Finance, and Export Finance.
Senior Portfolio Financing offers standardized and bespoke financing & capital solutions to credit investors, including the largest CLO managers and direct lenders globally. The collateral spans liquid to illiquid credit assets, focused mainly on leveraged loans (broadly syndicated and middle market/private credit) and other high-yielding assets. Products include financing against portfolios of loans, such as (i) shorter-dated (1-3 years) warehouse financing intended to support CLO take-outs, (ii) longer-dated (3-5 years) senior portfolio financing that provides leverage to credit funds, supporting them through the lifecycle of their investment strategies and (iii) bespoke financing structure against ABS/RMBS warehouses and more esoteric asset-backed facilities. The adjacent CLO structuring team offers securitization (structuring and syndication) for leveraged and structured credit assets.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Portfolio Financing team is seeking a Vice‑President to strengthen its Credit & Portfolio Management function for complex asset‑backed financing facilities collateralized by ABS, RMBS, fund finance, digital infrastructure and other specialized assets.
The successful candidate will act as the project manager and client-facing interface for multi‑stakeholder transactions, serving as the central point for underlying‑asset and sector analysis, portfolio management, and the improvement of systems that automate data processing and generate insights. Pro‑active management of non‑financial risks is also a core element of the role.
Strong presentation skills are essential; the successful candidate will regularly deliver insights to product teams, RISK, and senior management through written reports, slide decks and recurring cross‑functional meetings. A solid understanding of securitization and ABS products is required, as the role will coordinate asset‑review activities with experts across the ABS, Infrastructure, Fund Finance and other teams under the Asset Finance & Securitization perimeter.
The position requires a quantitative problem‑solver who can work with large data sets and translate business questions into actionable analytical deliverables, collaborating closely with ABS product specialists, RIKS and Finance teams. As a member of the “first line of defence,” the role will play a pivotal part in managing and mitigating risks associated with financing facilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Protect bank balance sheet as “first line of defense”: manage systems and data to uphold high standards of control on credit risk, capital efficiency and operational robustness
- Coordinate credit review of underlying assets and sectors
- Oversee reviews across a broad spectrum of sectors, including ABS, RMBS and esoteric sub‑asset classes, ensuring depth and consistency of analysis.
- Partner with asset‑class specialists to synthesize findings into a coherent risk narrative that supports proactive risk management.
- Translate technical credit assessments into clear, concise reports and presentations for RISK and senior‑management audiences.
- Maintain a robust audit trail of review outcomes, data sources and assumptions to satisfy governance and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously refine the review workflow, incorporating feedback and best‑practice
- Client Collaboration
- Maintain proactive, continuous communication with clients as financing facilities, portfolio composition, and market conditions evolve.
- Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries, safeguarding the bank’s risk posture while delivering seamless client service.
- Serve as the primary liaison for portfolio‑management matters, fostering an active, collaborative dialogue with the clients.
- Reporting & Stakeholder communication
- Regularly deliver insights to product teams, RISK and senior management via written reports, slide decks and recurring cross‑functional meetings.
- Run monthly presentations on financing facilities, aggregating inputs from Coverage Bankers, ABS & Senior Portfolio Financing specialists and other relevant groups.
- Prepare ad‑hoc presentations on request from RISK or senior leadership.
- Produce P&L reports that highlight trends, break down revenue streams and support data‑driven decision making.
- Oversee and drive quarterly diligence reviews with clients, covering platform updates, credit status, non‑financial‑risk assessments and any market‑event‑related queries.
- Operational robustness & systems (transversal issues)
- Oversee quarterly capital‑charge calculations for financing facilities and evaluate the impact of regulatory changes on those charges.
- Partner with third‑party vendors and internal IT teams to enhance the portfolio‑management platform, driving functional improvements and automation.
- Verify data accuracy and the seamless flow of information across all system interfaces.
- Design, build and maintain a robust reporting architecture that delivers consistent, high‑quality information on financing facilities to all stakeholders.
- Guide juniors, conduct reviews, and champion best practices for reproducibility, testing, and documentation
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree with quantitative sector or finance (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Economics, etc.);
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the structured credit industry or any related industry
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Fluency with Excel; VBA, database and other programming skills are a plus
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines while maintaining high standards
- Strong project-management skills in coordinating multi-disciplinary asset reviews
- Rigorous attention to detail and ability to manage large data sets
- Ability to work flexibly in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ABS, RMBS, infrastructure or fund finance securitization structures at a large bank, investment firm or major rating agency
- Hands-on experience with credit-rating methodologies
- Proven track-record of enhancing portfolio-management systems and automating reporting workflows
- Experience conduction borrowing base audits and managing non-financial risk

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $165,000 to $235,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
