Job Title: Associate, Global Trade Solutions

Location: 787 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10019

 

 

Duties: Structuring: Propose/assess structural features of transactions (across receivables optimization, payables extension, inventory management solutions, structured trade finance, and documentary and standby letter of credit facilities) prepare and manage the credit/capital approval process jointly with other members of GTS deal team and coverage, interact with distribution/insurance teams to manage capital and risk. Supported by thorough knowledge and working with all trade instruments including SBLCs, guarantees, documentary Letters of Credit as well as international practices (ISP98, UCP600) ruling the use of these instruments and operational aspects involved in their processing, including structural features of such instruments/facilities (including fronting risk). Legal Negotiation: negotiate legal documentation with knowledge/proficiency of credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, receivables purchase agreements, paying agency agreements, platform service agreements, participation agreements, etc. with support from Legal. Execution: liaise with distribution teams, coordinate and ensure front-to-back alignment with Transaction Support and Middle Office teams from credit approval to closing. Portfolio Management: monitor performance and risk indicators across the GTS Americas portfolio at both the portfolio and transaction level. Origination and Marketing Support: identify new business and cross-sell opportunities across the GTS Americas portfolio, research and prepare analysis of market trends impacting the trade finance industry, develop and maintain close relationships with GTS Americas’ clients and present solutions to selected prospects. Product development: Contribution to GTS Americas-related product development initiatives. Contribute to specific new GTS Americas-related product policies, in liaison with relevant local/ central teams.   *Telecommuting permitted 20%: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the BNP Paribas office in New York, NY.

 

SALARY$125,000.00 USD to $140,000.00 USD/ year

Work Schedule: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week. (Monday – Friday)

 

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Business, or related field and two (2) years of experience in trade finance, supply chain management, banking, or other financial services. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Delivering transaction banking solutions focused on liquidity optimization, principally through trade finance and supply chain management (receivables optimization, payables extension, inventory management) products/services for corporate clients with international activity; Track record of executing complex and/or syndicated/distributed trade and/or supply chain management transactions and product enhancement initiatives within transaction banking; Application of accounting principles and financial statement analysis. Conducting peer group working capital analysis (general understanding of how such indicators drive company performance and the relevance of transaction banking solutions across different sectors); Understanding and negotiating legal documentation. Working with credit related legal documentation (credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, receivables purchase agreements, paying agency agreements, platform service agreements, participation agreements, collection account control agreements, etc.); and Drafting product memos and corresponding with various stakeholders/deal teams, and presenting in pitch and client meetings as well as in internal meetings. Must have one (1) year of experience with Thorough knowledge of international transaction banking practices working with all trade instruments such as SBLCs, guarantees, or documentary Letters of Credit as well as international practices (ISP98 or UCP600) governing the use of these instruments and operational aspects involved in their processing, including structural features of such instruments/facilities (including fronting risk).
