We are currently looking for a Non-Insurance Accounting Team Leader - Fluent in French & English (M/F) based in Oporto
BE PART OF OUR GENERAL ACCOUNTING, GIE ACCOUNTING & TAX TEAM
Within Financial Production France, this team is in charge of centralizing general accounting data, cost accounting and their respective bookings for insurance and noninsurance companies in France. Main tasks are related to taxes, fees, accruals, provisions, intercompanies, payments/transfers and other entries as well as banking reconciliations.
As Team Leader, you will oversee and coordinate General Accounting, GIE Accounting and Tax teams in Porto fostering a close relationship with Head Office whose main objectives are to perform manual bookings, justify all related accounts and analyze Balance Sheet and General Ledger in compliance with FGAAP and IFRS.
YOUR FUTURE MISSION IN THE GENERAL ACCOUNTING, GIE ACCOUNTING & TAX TEAM
1. Team Management
- Contribute actively on the recruitments of accountants and assistant accountants
- Manage employees’ development plans and careers
- Build the roadmap of the General Accounting Department in link with HO
- Play a significant role in the structuring of the nearshoring project in Porto
2. Review day-to-day activities (operating tasks)
- Review tasks and processes performed by the teams – second review and specific analysis based on risk-sensitive basis
- Challenge audit trail formalization and documentation
- Ensure exchanges with all necessary stakeholders
- Analyze every activity, suggest improvements and report conclusions
- Define and monitor specific KPI´s
3. Manage quarterly closing in FGAAP and IFRS (operating tasks)
- Oversee and control the planning and execution of processes in link with respective stakeholders
- Analyze and deliver, with due quality and in due time, all accounts under your scope
4. Various ad-hoc projects (operating tasks)
- Contribute to the suggestions and operational implementation of various ad-hoc projects.
- You will place the needs of your department at the heart of the exchanges.
- Degree in accounting / finance / audit
- Professional background of at least 10 years in Accounting & Finance
- Previous experience in leadership roles related to Finance (Insurance companies would be a plus)
- Fluent in French (B2/C1 level is mandatory) and English (B2 intermediate level)
- Team management experience
- Consolidated Financial Accounting and Reporting experience (including FGAAP & IFRS experience)
