About this opportunity   

The BNP Paribas Nordic Investment Banking team is one of the most active international M&A and ECM franchises in the region, recognised by clients for the quality of its execution and its ability to deliver the full weight of a global platform on Nordic transactions. Within this context, the Nordic Investment Banking team is seeking analytical and entrepreneurial candidates with a firm grasp of complex financial concepts and a drive to work in a highly dynamic, meritocratic and rewarding workplace as full-time Investment Banking Analyst, located in Stockholm. 

We offer successful candidates an opportunity to work in both a global and local context, with potential for secondments across any of the EMEA, Americas and APAC regions comprising a total of some 450 advisory and industry group professionals, and to be directly involved in large, complex cross-border M&A and ECM transactions in support of Nordic and international clients. Analysts who perform at the highest level will develop the full skill set to progress into senior execution roles and, in time, find a clear path to senior roles within the Nordic franchise.

Main scope of the role 

As part of the Nordic Investment Banking team, you will be involved in originating and executing a variety of M&A and ECM transactions. You will have the opportunity to work in a high paced environment, perform a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tasks and be encouraged to contribute own ideas. Our deal team structure allows individuals to work closely with seniors on a diverse set of projects and support our clients in key strategic decision-making.  

What you will do    

  • Collaborate with senior investment banking professionals and participate in client interactions, projects and assignments as a core member of the Investment Banking team
  • Organise and analyse financial data used in client proposals, valuation materials and strategic plans, including building financial models for valuation and transaction analysis purposes
  • Prepare written recommendations, valuation materials and discussion materials for pitches and live deals
  • Conduct financial and industry research and evaluate companies’ performance relative to sector and market trends
  • Support transaction execution across M&A and ECM mandates, including interaction with clients and other advisers

 

Relevant experience and requirements  

  • Recent graduate from university or professional with up to 3 years of experience; prior investment banking or related experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills together with a robust knowledge of accounting and valuation techniques
  • Can-do mentality and perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities and have outstanding communication and time management skills
  • Excellent academic track record and fluency in English. Proficiency in a Nordic language is a plus
  • Committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards
