Job Title: Application Production Support

DepartmentITG PRODUCTION

About Business line/Function: APS BCEF

Position Purpose: 

The APS BCEF is part of ITG Production - it is the BCEF Production Entity.

 

Its main responsibilities are:

·        Build the BCEF Application Infrastructure

o   To support the business, APS co-constructs applications with IT Business. Its primary mission is to build the infrastructure to deploy applications and make them available to end users

·        Run the BCEF Applications

o   Once the applications are in production, “real life begins”.

o   APS is responsible for the run of BCEF applications, their availability over time and their maintenance in operational conditions (obsolescence, vulnerabilities, resilience, performance...)

·        Advice to DEV teams :

o   APS advises DEV teams on the adoption of ITG standard technologies and best suited to their application needs

·        Alignment with ITG Production Strategy and Deployment of Production Framework

·        Compliance with standards group

o   Toolchain Group (Ansible, ArgoCD, releade) , Linux/Windows, Cloud, Illumio, Dynatrace, LaaS, Dataviz with Tableau...

 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • Analyse and support IT Business teams to understand their needs and define the appropriate technical architecture for each application, ensuring full alignment with Group standards and norms.
  • Provision and deliver application environments and infrastructure components, guaranteeing secure, compliant, and production‑ready setups across all lifecycle stages.
  • Automate deployment processes using tools such as Ansible, XL Release, and Argo CD to speed up delivery, reduce manual tasks, and enhance reliability.
  • Create or update application environments using Terraform, ROKS, Linux, and WebSphere (WAS) to maintain consistency, scalability, and compliance with production requirements.
  • Perform all technical actions required for application installation, configuration, upgrades, and operational validation.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational procedures for each environment to ensure service availability and adherence to production SLAs.
  • Diagnose and resolve incidents using advanced observability tools such as Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, and Kibana, ensuring rapid recovery and long‑term system stability.
  • Identify and propose optimisation and industrialisation initiatives to improve performance, enhance efficiency, and strengthen the overall reliability of production services.

·        Supervision of application and infrastructure components 

·        Obsolescence and vulnerability management 

·        Incident management (analysis, coordination, communication, corrective actions, and PIRs) 

·        Problem management and root-cause analysis 

·        Change management (review, validation, implementation, communication) 

·        Capacity planning 

·        Decommissioning of legacy components 

·        Maintenance of operational documentation and referentials 

·        Team knowledge sharing and upskilling

 

Contributing Responsibilities

·        Promote standard architectures, tools, and Group products 

·        Support the backlog with production requirements 

·        Challenge and coordinate stakeholders to meet deadlines 

·        Share production best practices across communities 

·        Support development teams to secure and accelerate delivery

·        Technical skills - Advanced

o   Proficiency in Cloud Computing technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, OpenShift, and Terraform.

o   Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.

o   General knowledge of IT infrastructure, network protocols, and database management.

o   Network & Security: Illumio, certificate management, flow management, load balancer, VIP

DevOps & Automation

·        Technical skills - Advanced

o   Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Git, XL Release, and ArgoCD.

·        Technical skills - Basics

o   Ability to industrialize and automate workflows to enhance efficiency and reliability.

 

Monitoring & Observability

·        Technical skills - Advanced

o   Experience with modern monitoring and logging solutions, including Dynatrace, ELK stack, Sysdig

·        Technical skills - Basics

o   Capability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex incidents through observability tools.

 

·        IT Service Management / Technical skills - Advanced

o   Strong knowledge of ITIL practices, particularly in managing Incidents, Problems, and Changes. (Service Now)

 

·        Middleware & Scheduler Expertise / Technical skills - Basics

o   Familiarity with middleware components such as WebSphere, CFT, MQSeries, and Kafka.

o   Knowledge of the operation of a scheduler (Autosys, Airflow…)

 

Ways of Working & Soft Skills

·        Comfortable working in Agile environments and contributing to continuous delivery cycles.

·        Strong communication skills, with a good command of spoken and written English.

·        Collaborative mindset with a strong “one‑team” spirit.

 

Operational Requirements

·        Comfortable working within the service coverage window (08:00–18:00 – Paris Time) and able to support off‑hours or weekend interventions when required.
