Role

BPFASIL has a developing Private Capital business unit with a team currently servicing a large strategic client of the bank. This client operates a multi-manager structure and sub-funds setup with varying investment strategies. The funds are structured as Private Capital vehicles with capital commitments, capital calls, waterfalls, etc. The team provides monthly and quarterly reporting to the client and the respective sub-fund managers, independently reconciles, reviews, and reports on trades, positions, cash, and prices, controls general ledger postings, and oversees the final NAV review sign-off process. Frequent client contact is an important part of the group's remit. The team uses the eFront system, the core Private Capital operating system for the bank and the leading PC system in the market. Our strategy focuses on Private Capital as a significant growth opportunity, aiming for further expansion through additional client servicing in the location or via an oversight delegated model. We are now hiring for the position of Head of Private Capital Operations, who will have overall responsibility for the existing team and the setup of others. This role will lead the development of the wider Private Capital business from Ireland, ensuring best practice alignment within the region. The remit includes acting as the Ireland point of contact for all global Private Capital Steering Committees, global operations forums, and similar. 

This role requires an individual who is technically proficient, intellectually capable, and has a track record of establishing valuable relationships and leading teams in a dynamic operational setting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Private Capital Operations, including client servicing, team leadership, and business unit development. Furthermore, involvement in client pitches and serving as a senior operational contact for clients is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage team(s) to ensure efficient operation and adherence to internal procedures, best practices, and policies.
  2. Drive the generation of new client growth through involvement in RFPs and client pitches 
  3. Act as a senior operational point for clients
  4. Promote and maintain a high-quality client experience, understanding client needs for accurate and timely reporting, coupled with a proactive approach to client relationship management.
  5. Develop a scalable, efficient operating model and usage of eFront for Private Capital in Ireland, linking with global centres in the process.
  6. Represent Ireland on all global Private Capital Steering Committees and forums.
  7. Ensure correct and efficient allocation of workload throughout the team, equipping them for future business challenges.
  8. Understand training and development needs of team members, especially in the context of specific Private Capital knowledge and skillsets.
  9. Solve issues and incidents, monitoring delivery of solutions and overall service to clients and the wider internal organization.
  10. Foster and cultivate a change culture, driving new product enhancements, developing best practices, and supporting the build-out of capacity and scale within the organization.
  11. Recommend opportunities to enhance client-focused service delivery where appropriate.
  12. Act as a point of reference and escalation for colleagues, providing on-the-job training and coaching where required.


Qualifications & Skills Required

  • A third-level qualification with a relevant professional credential is preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the Private Capital fund services industry, including at least 7 years at the managerial level.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Irish Funds industry, particularly related to Private Assets, along with an established network within the industry.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a senior point of contact for clients.
  • Proficiency in using eFront or similar Private Capital systems is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of product knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Short-term travel to BNPP offices within Europe may be required.
