About the job
As a Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in our team, working directly with the bank's business areas to provide valuable insights to drive business growth, understanding their needs, proposing and implementing data-driven solutions (analysis, visualization and automation). This international and diverse team helps Global Markets Portugal to get to know their clients better and identify opportunities and trends through what data can tell.
Your Main Activities Are
- Development, maintenance, and support of data processing and analytical stacks
- Ensure architecture meets business requirements
- Recommend ways to efficiently provide quality data
- Develop data ETL (extract, transform, load) processes in production environment
- Leverage large volumes of data from internal sources
- Help global markets to achieve digital transformations
- Produce proof of concept data projects with innovative methods or tools
Profile and Skills to Success
- Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronic, Biomedical or similar Engineering field
- Knowledge and interest in financial markets are a plus
- Knowledge with Python programming language (Java/C++/C# will be considered)
- Proficiency in SQL, Tableau and code versioning tools such as Git
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Teamwork and collaborative mind-set
- Effective problem solver and consensus builder
- Fluency in written and spoken English
About the Team
The Quantitative Data Intelligence team is responsible for providing data, insights, and analysis to Global Markets Portugal and aims to build a solid database from various sources and develop analysis, reports and dashboards to provide valuable insight to the Front Office in a rapid, agile manner.
Our team is responsible for multiple steps regarding data processing: Data Feeds industrialization, ETL, Data Warehousing and Data Visualization. We are in direct contact with business sponsors, sales, and traders. We seek to shape the technologies available to the client’s needs - we plan in processing the data using Python and SQL, while delivering the final product in Tableau, Power BI, APIs, and Chat bots.
