As a Python Technical Architect, you will lead the transformation of the CEFS AML platform into a robust, scalable, cloudnative architecture. This position is vital for shaping the technical vision, strategy, and execution of AML initiatives, thereby strengthening the organization’s overall risk management.

Direct Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and design of enterprise-level software solutions with a focus on target-state AML architecture, covering data ingestion, analytics, alerting, and case management.
  • Define the overarching Python centric / cross technology architecture—including micro services, data pipelines, APIs, and orchestration—built on an event driven cloud model
  • Partner with compliance experts, data scientists, and engineering teams to deliver highthroughput processing (millions of transactions per day) with low latency solutions that enable the bank to identify, investigate, and report suspicious activity in line with regulatory requirements
  • Design solutions to ensure data quality, lineage, and GDPR/CCPA compliance
  • Enable integration of machinelearning models for anomaly detection, transaction clustering, and network analysis
  • Perform architectural and code reviews, apply security controls, enforce best practices and mentor junior staff to ensure adherence to BNPP CIB defined architectural principles and standards.
  • Lead DevOps/ automation and guide teams to align with shift left and shift right strategy by encouraging a mindset for automation first and reducing recursive manual efforts
  • Take ownership of technical feasibility studies of emerging technologies (e.g., graph databases, stream processing frameworks, explainable AI) for AML use cases, demos, proposal development and represent in ITSVC (architectural committee).

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong expertise in Python, microservices, async programming, and performance engineering e.g.  asyncio, FastAPI/Django/Flask, Celery, Pandas, NumPy, PySpark).
  • Experienced in designing and scaling microservice architectures, eventdriven systems (Kafka, Pulsar) and REST/GraphQL APIs, integration patterns, security protocols
  • Strong knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL/graph databases (Neo4j, JanusGraph).
  • Proficiency with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and bigdata platforms (Spark, Flink, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Ability to produce high-quality architectural documents and standards.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes. Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, serverless computing, observability stacks (e.g. ELK, Grafana, Prometheus)
  • Experienced in caching technologies like Redis or Apache Ignite.
  • Troubleshooting & Performance tuning using profiling tools e.g. Dynatrace, JProfiler etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability & willingness to learn & work on diverse technologies (languages, frameworks, and tools)

Nice to have Skills:

  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET)
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Industry related certifications e.g. TOGAF
  • Experience with AMLspecific opensource tools (e.g., SARML, OpenAML, or custom rule engines).
  • Exposure to machinelearning frameworks (Scikitlearn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and modeldeployment pipelines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards (e.g., FATF, 5AMLD, FinCEN).
