About Business line/Function:

The Global Markets (GM) business of BNP Paribas helps its Corporate and Institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7.

IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications.

The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. Position Purpose

Documentation IT

The team is in charge of CIB’s Back Office platforms that manages notably deals & associated documentation (e.g. Confirmations & Advices). Métiers covered are Interest Rates, Credit, Forex, Equity, Bonds, Commodities and Derivatives.

The platform facilitates notably the following Functionality:

·         Automatic Document creation, sending & reception (fax, swifts & emails)

·         Document drafting and validation, indexing and matching,

·         Tracking/chasing and litigations management,

·         Deal-related communication.

Responsibilities

 

 

We have a requirement for a strong Business analyst, with rounded middle/back office experience in investment banking.

 

The candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have delivered value on large projects in Capital Markets, preferably in the middle/back office area.

 

Business knowledge:                                          

 

·         A strong appreciation of Middle/Back Office functions

·         Trade lifecycle

·         Product knowledge: Interest rates derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Options, Fx options (Knowledge is required more in how these products might be represented in a Front Office, Back office system)

·         Understands Back office Trade confirmation process and workflows.

 

An appreciation of

 

·         Static data on Securities

·         Market data & prices

·         Regulatory initiatives such as Dodd Frank, EMIR, Clearing

 

Required Business Analysis skills in IT system design

 

·         IT system design and testing: Interfaces between systems (FO feeding Back offices)

·         Good understanding of data flowing between systems throughout the trade life cycle

 

Direct Responsibilities

 

·         Initial Analysis

o   Feasibility studies

o   Initial estimations

o   Providing proposals, High level solutions

o   Working with Project Managers to identify target delivery dates

 

·         Implementation/Post Live Support

o   Provide support for new/changed functionality where required, producing:

o   Release Notes

o   User Guides/documentation/Use case diagrams

o   Arranging Functional Demo’s/Training

 

·         Testing

o   Produce and execute Functional Test Packs – or provide guidance where required to testing teams.

o   Regression Test Pack assessment

o   Organize and manage end User Testing where required

o   Escalation of environment issues preventing progress

 

·         Functional Design and Documentation

o   Obtaining/clarifying/elaborating business requirements

o   Functional solution design and documentation

o   Re-estimation throughout Project lifecycle when required

 

·         3rd Level Support

o   Provide 3rd level support in line with defined Group process.

o   L3 technical support to production and UAT environments.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities

 

·         Template Design & development using in house document drafting tool.

·         Appropriate documentation to be provided for all deliveries.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

 

Good Essential technical skills:

·         Experience with understanding complex systems, analyzing, and resolving issues and writing functional and technical specifications, and test plans.

·         Experience in coordinating a dispersed set of stakeholders (functionally and geographically)

·         Experience with having organized and conducted all types of testing in a Banking environment.

·         Experience with structured project methodology.

·         Understanding of business analysis and systems analysis

·         Experience in drafting test plans, test scenario and test cases

·         Experience in executing functional testing.

·         Knowledge of analysis methodologies like entity-relation modelling, use cases, process / transformation analysis.

·         Ability to work with technology to assist with analysis eg SQL, Access

·         A good knowledge of Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint is requested.

·         Worked on Thunderhead Tool or any other Tool related to Document Template Creation.

·         Prior Experience in Automation Projects that has been E2E delivered.

·         Hands on SQL and able to read/write SQL queries.

·         Good interpersonal and communications skills to work effectively with representatives of a diverse range of departments located in various sites and locations (Collateral Management FO, IT, Operations, Credit Risk, Market Risk) and within various business lines (mainly Fixed Income, Equity Derivatives).

·         Must be able to demonstrate that can communicate well in writing and orally and manage relationships.

·         Being able to work under pressure, in a sometimes-challenging environment, and to deal with confrontational situations.
