The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT work load, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it
Position Purpose: The person will be a key member of the Market Abuse IT team that is tasked to deliver multiple complex projects in the Trade Surveillance area. This role is within the Conduct, Control and Surveillance IT team. The team utilizes Oracle to develop enhance & maintain packages.
The candidate will collaborate with the Compliance & Financial Security teams and be a “go to” for technical execution of the product. The candidate is responsible to partner with all the functional and project leads in designing the solution and taking ownership of the execution and delivery. The candidate will recommend alternative solutions, design, integrate, and implement the right enterprise solutions for Compliance.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
· Work independently in application development / support / enhancements / bug-fixing.
· Utilize understanding of design principles in creating custom software solutions or modifying packages solutions
· Be a part of IT team to develop and contribute to initiatives that transform and modernize the capabilities and services of the Compliance and Trade Compliance function.
· Work with BA to identify appropriate models to cover various scenarios and validate existing setup on the Data Integration Area.
· Ensure adherence to Bank and information systems policies and procedures, security measures and audit standards.
· Mentor junior team members on the technology & processes front.
· Share knowledge and skills with others within the team from time to time.
· Prepare high quality test plans and conduct the tests at Unit, Regression, Integration, Code reviews.
· Ensuring that the project and organization standards are followed during various phases of software development life cycle and day to day development work.
· Contributing Responsibilities
· Contribute towards knowledge sharing initiatives and upskilling of other team members.
· Contribute to development/Writing of Technical Specifications document, Test plan, and Test Cases
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
· Excellent Knowledge & Understanding of Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL.
· Good Knowledge & Understanding of Data Modelling, Packages, Functions, Performance Tuning .
· Flair for learning new tools & technology.
· 7 - 10 years of experience in Banking IT, with a good understanding of the Corporate and Institutional Banking activity. Knowledge of Capital Markets an asset.
· Good knowledge and understanding of Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting.
· Good knowledge in systems, application frameworks, database optimization, and experience being responsible for the success of software development projects.
· Proven record interpreting and fulfilling requirements by developing high performing, scalable and maintainable solutions with multiple technologies.
· Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies and best practices including Waterfall Process, Agile methodologies, deployment automation, code reviews, and test-driven development.
· Strong coordination and organizational skills
· Excellent communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
· Being aware of new technologies and frameworks.
· Basic level DBA knowledge is required.
· Pythons scripting knowledge & ML/AI/LLM knowledge.
Specific Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of developer experience with banking functional knowledge.
