YOUR JOB IN A NUTSHELL
Step into a key role at BNP Paribas Fortis as Project Manager for Risk Models & Supervisory Interactions. You’ll lead projects that assess the likelihood of client default, expected losses, and outstanding balances — essential insights for setting capital requirements and pricing credit fairly. A role at the heart of responsible banking.
AND IN DETAIL
As Project Manager, you'll coordinate key risk-related initiatives and ensure smooth communication between BNP Paribas Fortis, the broader BNP Paribas Group, and supervisory authorities. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on project delivery at the core of the bank’s risk management approach.
Your responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for the BNP Paribas Group on major risk projects.
- Manage the local coordination of large-scale group initiatives, ensuring that all practical and operational aspects are handled effectively.
- Prepare and organise internal governance meetings (operational and steering committees) to inform decisions and track progress.
- Build and maintain project plans, and ensure consistent follow-up on actions, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Take the lead in preparing for on-site visits from supervisory authorities (such as regulators), including execution and follow-up activities.
- Document all risk remediation steps to ensure full transparency and traceability — essential for regulatory reviews and audits.
- Manage on-site inspections and missions with the European Central Bank (ECB) and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Organize and facilitate committees and meetings with internal stakeholders, including RISK ERA Models, RISK Anticipations, and RISK Belgian Retail Banking teams.
Collaboration & communication
- Work closely with project teams across the BNP Paribas Group, contributing to a unified approach and consistent delivery.
- Bridge the gap between technical teams, senior management, and external supervisors, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout each phase of the project.
What makes this role interesting
Operate at the intersection of regulation, risk management, and project leadership. Gain insight into high-level decision-making processes and contribute directly to projects with strategic impact. Collaborate internationally, developing a broad professional network within the BNP Paribas Group. Help ensure the bank meets both internal objectives and regulatory expectations, reinforcing its role as a trusted financial institution.
YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken command. Fluent in either Dutch or French, and a working knowledge of the other language.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in risk management, preferably in credit risk.
- General understanding of credit risk models, including their purpose, is an asset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact with ECB inspectors and internal stakeholders at different levels.

- A structured and organised approach, ensuring clarity and efficiency in project execution.
- Goal-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
