Department: Asset Management Operations

 

About Business line/Function: Asset Management – Security Financing Operations

 

Position Purpose: 

BNP Paribas Asset Management is part of BNP Paribas Group and is responsible for the process of managing and monitoring assets, on behalf of individual and corporate clients.  BNPP AM offers funds and mandates towards its clients.  These funds & mandates are managed by Portfolio Managers, who are based in different locations across the globe.  

The mission of Asset Management Operations is to organize and perform, as a global service provider, the operations activities for portfolio management and the associated reporting in a regulatory compliant, risk controlled, qualitative and efficient way. 

The role of the different Transaction Processing teams (Trade Support, Collateral & Derivatives Support and Security Financing Operations) within GO is essential to ensure that all transactions are correctly reflected in the position keeping tools, meaning they should be accurate and in line with service providers and client expectations. 

 

The Securities Financing Operations Analyst is responsible for managing all middle office and administration activities for Securities Financing Lending & Repo products. The processor ensures that every transaction is captured, collateralised, settled, and reconciled accurately.

 

Direct Responsibilities

¡ Ability to proactively maintain a high-volume deadline based in the Securities Financing Operations environment and successfully meet the challenges of high-risk deadline driven functions

¡ Corporate Entitlements: Accurately manage all corporate entitlement action/events (voluntary and mandatory), from event capture to event closure (inclusive of reconciliation at a custody level) in a risk-controlled manner.

¡ Fee Billing Entitlement: Accurately manage all fee billing entitlement process including statement distribution reconciliation collection and payment in a risk-controlled manner.

¡ Communicate / escalate with trading desk, counterparties and third-party vendors and maintain and improve day to day relationships

¡ Recordkeeping and maintain internal and external records and reports, daily reconciliations and audit as required

¡ Report to line management, in a timely fashion and according to the rules specified in the local incident policy / procedure, issues arising from the business activities which (may) impact the company / clients / employees / third parties

¡ Take appropriate actions to mitigate / help mitigate the risks arising from the business activities placed under your responsibility

¡ KPI reporting – Internal and external

¡ Other Trade Administration duties assigned - Shared responsibility within the team pre and post trade processes for Securities Financing activity. This may include the following but not exclusively; Trade instructions, SSI’s, Call back’s, trade investigations resolving trades issues, using internal and external systems and reporting

Specific Qualifications:

·         Graduation / Post Graduation from any recognized University with Finance as Major.

·         Trade confirmation and settlement experience within security financing and trade support with an extensive fixed income and equity knowledge base for global markets.

·         Corporate Actions (mandatory / voluntary) experience

·         Collateral Management experience

·         Candidates should be willing and flexible to work in any shift.

 

 

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

·         Attention to Detail: Precise data entry and verification; low tolerance for errors.

·         Technical Knowledge:

o   Understanding of collateral types (cash, government bonds, OTC instruments, repos, letters of credit).

o   Familiarity with collateral management platforms and trade lifecycle systems (BlackRock Aladdin, TriOptima).

o   Familiarity with Corporate Actions’ events (voluntary and mandatory

o   Familiarity with Trade Support processes and platforms

·         Financial Markets: Understanding of the Trade Lifecycle as well as of financial markets, instruments, and products (e.g., stocks, bonds, derivatives, currencies).

·         Analytical Ability: Strong numerical aptitude; ability to perform detailed reconciliations and variance analysis.
