Senior Retail Credit Risk Analyst CEE

As a Senior Retail Credit Risk Analyst at Arval you will be a pivotal member of our Regional Risk team covering 6 countries, responsible for evaluating credit exposure, being an ambassador for robust risk management frameworks, and influencing strategic decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize our credit portfolio, drive organizational excellence, and uphold Arval’s reputation for reliability and resilience. 

 

The Regional Credit Risk team is embedded in the global BNPP Risk community with very close collaboration with our partners at the Arval Headquarters and therefore provides excellent opportunities to network and collaborate across countries and cultures within the Central European region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities include: 

Credit Application Analysis

  • Assess the creditworthiness of retail clients by analyzing credit applications, financial statements, credit bureau reports, and internal data
  • Determine risk profiles and provide structured recommendations for approval, conditional approval, or rejection based on established credit policies
  • Collaborate with sales and underwriting teams to clarify and validate client financial information and documentation

Portfolio Monitoring & Analysis

  • Perform ongoing analysis of the retail credit portfolio to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Generate regular portfolio performance reports and risk segmentation analytics
  • Monitor delinquency rates, aging analysis, and default trends to support proactive credit risk mitigation strategies

Policy Coordination & Compliance

  • Coordinate with regional credit teams to ensure consistent implementation of retail credit policies across all offices
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and leasing company mandates
  • Lead in developing and updating retail credit policy documents, workflows, and decision frameworks based on market and regulatory developments

Credit Process Optimization

  • Participate in the design and improvement of credit scoring models, risk assessment tools, and credit decision processes
  • Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time without compromising risk standards

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver presentations and detailed reports for senior management and risk committees on retail portfolio performance and risk exposure
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and insights on credit practices

Risk & Regulatory Awareness

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes affecting retail credit and leasing operations
  • Ensure all credit decisions and practices comply with internal policies and external regulations, such as consumer protection laws and anti-money laundering requirements

 

You have:

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • Proficiency in MS excel and credit risk software/tools (e. g Moody’s Analytics, CRIF, FICO, Experian) 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk analysis (Retail), preferably in banking, leasing, or financial services
  • Proven track record in conducting complex financial statement analysis, creating/refining credit risk models, and interpreting financial data.
  • Solid knowledge of credit risk evaluation methodologies and regulatory compliance in retail lending
  • Effective written and verbal fluency in English/Polish, min C1 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multi-functional, multinational teams, adapting communication styles for different audiences and cultural contexts.
  • Results oriented and able to accomplish objectives in a specified timeframe
  • Solid knowledge of credit risk evaluation methodologies and regulatory compliance in retail lending
